Zaytona Imbiss — Restaurant in Regensburg

My experience yesterday was frustrating!

I am a frequenter to this restaurant, and I was always greeted friendly and respectful, by most of the staff members.

Yesterday, a new person (or at least non-known to me) prepared my sandwich. He was at first preparing something in the kitchen, wearing gloves, and then moved to the food preparation, with wetted hands, to prepare the food. I had some concerns related to hygiene, so I politely asked him to change his gloves. He refused and started arguing!

I did not want to escalate, so I refrained from insisting and he prepared the sandwich with the same gloves! I paid and left, but was concerned and did not eat the food!

This incident left me a bit frustrated about the hygiene and the unusual confrontational customer service...

Beste Shawarma in Regensburg bisher, Falafel auch absolut gigantisch. Beides kombiniert ist eigentlich optimal. Shawarma ist klassisch, Hühnerspieß, saure Gurke, Knoblauchcreme, Granatapfel. Komposition ist balanciert und durchdacht: Im Unterschied zu Döner ist das Fleisch gefühlt magerer, wird nicht totgegrillt, sondern saftiger geschnitten. Dafür wird der Warp nach dem mehrlagigen Wickeln nochmal in irgendein Fett gedippt und im Kontaktgrill gefinished. Resultat ist innen saftig, außen knusprig, hat alle Geschmacksrichtungen, absolute Perfektion - halt kein Gemüse. Der Falafel Dürüm wird nicht ganz so fettig ausgebacken, aber auch nochmal gegrillt - kommt mit gepickeltem Zeug, Salat und einer Art Hummus? mit sehr viel Tahini, ist absolut beeindruckend abgestimmt und die Falafel liefern Crunch, Cremigkeit und Geschmack, schmeckt insgesamt sehr frisch. Schwache Falafel leben von den Soßen, gute Falafel dagegen würzen den Wrap von innen - und diese sind ganz klar Leistungsträger, sehr gute Würzung. 6,50 Shawarma und 5,50 Falafel ist so fair, dass man sich ein Getränk leisten sollte - Ayran ist säuerlicher als man es vom türkischen Imbiss kennt, das passt unfassbar gut. Drinnen sitzen geht, aber man riecht nach Fritteuse. Liefern funktioniert super, der Kontaktgrill und saftige Füllung halten sich gut. Aber das Beste ist draußen sitzen, direkt frisch essen wenn es wieder warm ist. Wir haben heute ein Holzbrett mit extra Dip zu den Wraps bekommen, sehr nette Gastgeber. Außerdem sehr skilled einfach, die Prozesse und Abläufe sitzen. Auch wenn komplexe Lieferbestellungen anlaufen und 12 Leute im Laden stehen, keine Panik, einfach effizient abarbeiten und gutes Essen liefern.

Empfehlung: Zu zweit einmal Shawarma und einmal Falafel teilen - Festmahl, Umamibombe und frisch dazu.
