A Culinary Gem in Rothenburg – Goldene Gans
Already the name and the logo of Goldene Gans have something special about them—charming, inviting, and full of character. But it’s once you step inside that the real magic begins. The aromas, the presentation, the atmosphere… from that point on, you’ll find it hard to settle for anywhere else.
The menu is small, but that’s part of its strength—a thoughtful selection of fresh, high-quality ingredients that highlight the kitchen’s creativity and attention to detail. We were lucky enough to have our order taken by the chef himself, who recommended the specials on the chalkboard. We followed his advice, and we were not disappointed. Still, everything on the menu looked mouthwatering.
Rothenburg is a magical city, and Goldene Gans does to your taste buds what the city does to your eyes—it makes you go “wow” with every bite. Each dish reflects the passion and care poured into it, elevating the whole experience to something truly memorable.
After a day of wandering Rothenburg’s fairy-tale streets, let your palate be enchanted by the flavors here. By the end of the meal, every plate on our table was clean.
I would recommend this restaurant to absolutely everyone. Thank you to the team at Goldene Gans for the incredible food, warm service, and genuine smiles....

Then she yelled on us “then you shouldn’t have a seat outside in the first place, i have given last table to another people”. You should and can not yell on your customers. Of course we left there. Edit after your response: Thank you, your response shows what is what. The issue is neither waiting nor sitting outside; the issue is that...
Read moreThe restaurant's menu is interesting and suitable for tourists. The atmosphere also feels pretty good here. The cons of this place are: 1) When we were here for a dinner, only one waitress was working, it looked like she had troubles servicing all tables. 2) They were out of onion soups which are in the menu + they told me about it only after some time of waiting, that was pretty upsetting. 3) Almost all the food was oversalted, which is a big minus, because I wasn't able to feel almost anything except salt. Please add less salt to your dishes and soups especially. At the end, it wasn't bad, but I don't want to...
