Another hidden gem - a must if you’re an Asian food lover! I had no idea why I never went to this cute cafe and just discovered it now. I honestly went to have their matcha latte (they have a promotion every Friday in this August - poster attached).
Well to be fair the location is quite secluded - and far in my opinion - from the bus station. It’s in a residential area - perhaps that’s why it’s so not so well-known. But when you arrive and go inside, it’s a very cute cafe with so many sloth dolls. I get the vibe it’s like chilling in a living room with the sofa and decorations. Yes there’s not many places to sit inside but in this weather, you can sit outside. Nice to hangout with light snacks (or food) and a cup of matcha / coffee / bubble tea 😆
On to their food: Of course matcha is a must try for me (I’m a big fan of matcha!) I bought their 30 gr pouch for 15€ (believe me it’s cheap!) and got a free matcha drink to accompany my lunch. Ordered the honeymelon matcha (a bit too sweet for me, but a nice combination nonetheless). I can taste their matcha is of good quality - believe me I drink matcha pure every day! So for that price, it’s a steal!
I ordered the Taiwanese pancake, and was surprised that I really like it! Perfect balance of taste, and crunchy! Has lettuce, corn, ham, eggs inside - kinda like jian bing (or maybe it is!). I also ordered matcha latte to go for only 2,2€. So cheap! I like the latte better as I can taste more of the matcha - which I feel has no bitterness.
Addition: Even without promotion their matcha drinks is not so expensive and overpriced, so I guess that’s okay. Plus they use not only 1 gr matcha in their drink, so it’s no watery and you can taste real matcha inside.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They speak German, English, and Chinese (I think they are Chinese / Taiwanese - sorry can’t differentiate 😕). Answered all my questions and also had a pleasant conversation. I will definitely come back - for more food, and more matcha! Now I know where to buy good quality matcha powder that does not break the bank! Today I paid 27€ for a 30 gr pouch, a pancake, and a matcha latte to go! I will let you judge if the price...
Read moreAbsolutely the best matcha in town — hands down! The color, flavor, and quality are exactly what real matcha should be. They also sell matcha powder at reasonable prices, with a great variety to choose from.
What really impressed me was the equipment: it’s the first time I’ve seen a La Marzocco Strada X in a place like this — truly a dream for coffee lovers.
Although they only offer one type of coffee bean, it’s 100% Arabica and tastes far better than many blended coffees that include Robusta.
For the price, i willing pay more for the quality they have .
Highly recommended for both matcha and...
Read moreI Wanted an out of the way café without all the busyness and something I can’t just go out in the US to get. It’s quaint, staff is extremely nice. There’s so much goodness I could barely decide. I finally decided on the Ice cream café latte and the chocolate banana cake. Both were absolutely amazing and scooping the ice cream was a totally different pleasure. It was well worth the out of the way hike up the steep hills...
