Ristorante La Fenice Stuttgart — Restaurant in Stuttgart

We have been a few times to La Fenice.

The food was always delicious, tasty and well presented.

The atmosphere is cosy, classy, calm and very agreeable.

But unfortunately, at each of our visit we were disappointed about the service.

Waiters were both cold, barely smiling and even when we give compliments you were not even saying thank you or just give us a smile. And once, we kindly ask how a specific dish was cooked because it was so good, we were literally answered “I am not cooking it”.

I think you should revise how you talk to clients, because you appeared rude to us every time we came by behaving like this.

Therefore, even if the food and the restaurant itself are a pure pleasure to be at, your service being too cold and unfriendly lead us to unfortunately not...

Nice small, cozy place in the middle of Stuttgart.

Food was nice looking but lacked flavor:

Some pairings were unfortunate, to say the least. E. g. appetizer Egg with Truffles and Parmesan-foam would have been better with Peccorino.

The fish with lemon sauce plus garlicy spinach and grilles potato is a terrible pairing and soo 80's (old fashioned!).

The dessert Pannacotta was actually a Lemon Pannacotta, which came as a surprise, as it was not mentioned on the menu. And Lemon Pannacotta is difficult to palate for a Pannacotta traditionalist such as me.

Service was OK, but lacked flair. Would like to see a bit more elaborate explanations about the food, etc.

The food was excellent and of truly high quality – there is no doubt about that. Unfortunately, our entire experience was overshadowed by the service.

The waiter became upset when we told him that the third person in our group would not be coming. Later, when we said we were ready to order, he told us he “didn’t have time right now” and simply left us sitting there. When I politely asked about the size of a portion, I received the disrespectful reply that I should “cook it myself.”

It was also very noticeable that he treated all the other guests in a friendly manner – except us. We were the only two guests who looked different, and at the same time, the only ones who were treated with such disrespect.

I came in hungry, looking forward to a nice evening, but after this behavior I lost my appetite. Such conduct is highly unprofessional and hurtful. Sadly, this ruined what should have been a special day.

Das Essen war ausgezeichnet und von wirklich hoher Qualität – daran gibt es keinen Zweifel. Leider wurde unser gesamtes Erlebnis jedoch durch den Service überschattet.

Der Kellner wurde verärgert, als wir ihm sagten, dass die dritte Person in unserer Gruppe nicht kommen würde. Später, als wir ihm mitteilten, dass wir bereit seien zu bestellen, sagte er, er habe „jetzt keine Zeit“ und ließ uns einfach sitzen. Als ich höflich nach der Größe einer Portion fragte, erhielt ich die respektlose Antwort, ich solle das Essen doch „selbst zubereiten“.

Es fiel auch sehr auf, dass er mit allen anderen Gästen freundlich umging – außer mit uns. Wir waren die einzigen beiden Gäste, die anders aussahen, und zugleich die einzigen, die mit solcher Respektlosigkeit behandelt wurden.

Ich kam hungrig und freute mich auf einen schönen Abend, doch nach diesem Verhalten habe ich meinen Appetit verloren. Ein solches Auftreten ist äußerst unprofessionell und verletzend. Leider hat dies einen Tag ruiniert, der eigentlich etwas Besonderes hätte...
