I visited the Benaki Museum Restaurant, and I must say it was a hidden gem I didn’t expect to discover. I had no idea the space even existed, and just walking through a few of the museum’s rooms to get there already sets the mood for something different and serene.
Once we reached the rooftop, the setting won us over immediately. Calm, welcoming, with a lovely view and despite being in the heart of Athens, it was completely quiet, with no city noise. That alone made a big impression.
The staff was genuinely kind and helpful. We initially sat down just for a coffee, but after seeing the dishes on the tables next to us and having a look at the well curated menu, we couldn’t resist ordering brunch. We tried both savory and sweet plates and everything was not only beautifully presented but truly delicious.
The prices are very fair and accessible, which makes the experience even more inviting.
I’m definitely going back, next time probably in the afternoon after work, to enjoy the atmosphere at a different hour. A spot that perfectly combines culture, relaxation and quality food.
Well done to the entire team. Highly...
Read moreSuch a lovely place to sit and relax, talk and enjoy a lovely meal. We celebrated our children’s engagement with a lovely food and wine with good company and conversation into the evening. The terrace felt like it was the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and view of the city, even catching a glimpse of the acropolis through the trees. The service was very good and the food very enjoyable - Greek inspired dishes with a twist! The salads were refreshing and some of the dishes such as the squid with fava, which I highly recommend, were art works! The fact that we could enjoy the beautiful exhibition at the museum really made a it very...
Read moreThe museum is absolutely lovely and the cafe has a very nice view. The service however: the manager of the cafe was very welcoming and nice but one specific waiter was really rude -- so bad that i am publishing here my first (bad) review ever. He was seemingly annoyed and made sure to point out that i switched tables from a small one to a big one ( mostly because i was alone and then we were a bigger group of five) and then when we asked for the bill he snatched the money from my mother hand without handing her the bill. Appalling and rude. Unacceptable for a museum where you pay a 12e...
