This bar turned out to be so much more than a bar for me. It was a place of safety and refuge to chill and relax with a book after surviving the busy city. Under the protection of the mulberry and olive trees, set back from the road behind the glass screen you are protected from the the pollution of the road but still a part of the atmosphere of the night, by candle light it holds a special ambience. A great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. We stayed in Athens for a week, the reason we came back here every night was for the music. The promise of Van Morrison, Dylan, Springsteen, Beatles, Pink Floyd and Cash. An opportunity to reflect on times and friends gone by. Looking for a drink on a Monday evening in Athens, we found this place on Google. It looked cool. Got to the place, the door was open, but no one was inside and the chairs were up. Ok...maybe they were closed, maybe they were about to open. One of us entered to ask. A man, maybe the owner, comes up and gives us attitude when we ask if they're closed. "Isn't it obvious?" he says. Ok...sure sorry buddy. Apparently he was mopping and was mad we stepped on the floor. We leave and he comes outside to repeat the same thing to us. We don't wish to escalate anything. Needless to say we're glad we didn't patronizing this...

Την Κυριακή 12 Ιανουαρίου στις 8 μ.μ. επήγα με ένα φίλο μου για ένα καφέ σε αυτό το Caffè Mπαρ. Κάποια στιγμή έλαβα μια κλήση στο κινητό από το εξωτερικό για κάποιο θέμα επείγον. Επειδή η μουσική ακουγόταν κάπως δυνατά αναγκάστικα να μιλήσω κι εγώ κάπως δυνατά γιατί δεν υπήρχε καλό σήμα κι έξω έβρεχε πολύ και ασταμάτητα. Μετά από λίγη ώρα έρχεται ο ιδιοκτήτης του μαγαζιού που μας είχε σερβίρει ο ίδιος και χωρίς να πει τίποτα μαζεύει και μας πέρνει τα φλιτζάνια του caffè. Ο φίλος μου δεν είχε προλάβει να τον πιεί ακόμα.. Τότε ζήτησα να πληρώσω τον λογαριασμό και να φύγουμε. Εκείνος μου είπε πως τo P.O.S είναι μακριά , δεν έχουμε ασύρματο. Του λέω "Αυτό που κάνατε και πήρατε τα φλιτζάνια ήταν απρεπές, απαράδεκτο και συνεπάγετε με αντιεπαγγελματική συμπεριφορά." Ναι, μου απάντησε, τα πήρα για να σηκωθήτε να φύγετε και να μην ξαναέρθετε γιατί ενοχλείτε τους πελάτες μου μιλώντας δυνατά στο κινητό.
