Authentic Chinese food right in the heart of Athens — worth a visit if you crave the Real Deal and like it spicy.
It’s not perfect though so let’s go through the negatives first: Some of the menu items (like the Peking duck) taste, frankly, average and are not worth your money. The service can be very slow if staff has acquaintances dropping by for a chat — on one visit, I waited about half an hour after finishing my meal to be able to flag the waitress down so I could take the rest home.
These are the reasons why I don’t give it a 5* rating. However, there are many positives:
The spicier items on the menu are, almost without exception, very tasty. If you know what to order, you’ll be in for a good time. The ambience is nice (and it has great views of Syntagma square, with outdoor (balcony) dining possible) and the music in the background is pleasant too. For its location and quality, the prices are generally very good: we got 3 mains, accompanying rice, a starter and drinks for about 50 euros.

ChunXi 春熙餐厅 is a hidden gem right by Syntagma Square and its metro station in the heart of Athens. It's not a fancy restaurant, but what it lacks in décor, it more than makes up for in flavor, portions, and value.
As someone trying Chinese food for the first time, I couldn’t have chosen a better place. The portions were generous, the prices very reasonable, and every dish was packed with authentic flavors. This unpretentious spot offers a down-to-earth dining experience that’s perfect for anyone craving satisfying Chinese food without breaking the bank.
The location is convenient, making it an ideal stop during a day of exploring Athens. If you’re near Syntagma and want a hearty, delicious meal, ChunXi 春熙餐厅 is absolutely...
Read moreUsually I don’t write reviews, but this time, the experience is worth writing. The Sichuan food was okay, however other cuisines are so lala. Most disappointed is the service, before we ordered food, the service is okay, but after we ordered, the quality of the service dropped. They spilled soup all over the table and even dripped on me, after that they did not even offer to clean the table and just went away. Woah, I was in shocked… Plus it is suspiciously overpriced ( maybe two menus?). If u are looking for somewhere like fast food, u can go there. But if u are here out for holidays to enjoy, you’d...
