Checked into the hotel for a two night stay prior to flying to the islands and was discovering the amenities on the property. The employees at the cigar lounge were so friendly! The woman running the gift shop downstairs was equally friendly and personable where we purchased their hotels signature scented products, but come to this rooftop restaurant… a whole other story!

The older “gentle”man who was slightly tall with white hair at the front desk was immediately acting very entitled and insulted us, guests of the property, when we were looking at the menu trying to decide where to have a few appetizers and drinks. We had just flown in from an 18 hour flight, exhausted, hungry… craving seafood, to have that man turn around and tell us they had hamburgers for us. Hamburgers. He heard our accent and automatically jumped to the conclusion of “Americans”. We are Cypriot Armenian. Regardless, nationality has nothing to do with the attitude of that man who is clueless as to who are their actual guests while treating the guests like s... I wanted to leave immediately, but my friend wanted to stay for the views. We are paying for his salary by being guests of the property. It’s OUR money he lives off of. He does not own the property to be acting so entitled as if he is above anyone else.

The food was also subpar. The waiter suggested their grilled calamari, which was just unpalatable. I don’t know what they have done, including some sort of a cooked potato dish underneath the calamari, which felt like something you would expect in a Mousaka, not something that pairs well with calamari. It just didn’t work. I’m sure their pastas are probably better but we didn’t want anything heavy for lunch. The Greek salad was too modern and didn’t fix that craving. They’re afraid to use oregano.

Personally, I would not return based on the experience upon entering the establishment. They need to get rid of that man who is classless and bad...

Very good experience. Usually when you come by these places as a 24 years old, the staff sees you as a youngster they don't treat you well enough. At this place, the staff was amazingly friendly. I was shocked from the very beggining I felt like I entered a rooftop of a luxury hotel. The waitresses and the baristas were top notch. Amazing customer service. I wasn't sure on what drink to get since I'm italian i was skeptical about getting their "Athens Spritz" but holy moly! I'm literally from the city where both tiramisù and Aperol Spritz were invented and their Athens Spritz was giving Treviso +Milano vibes I was like= SI SI SI, È BUONO! Why was their customer service great? As mentioned before I wasn't sure what to get i asked to what was their white peach if a syrup or a juice and the barista got a small glass and let me taste it hence he used extra care and i loved it. The prices are high, overall all drinks range from 22 euros to 30 euros but let me tell you....IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT. No other rooftop I've been to in Athens had this quality of cocktails. This place could easily become a super famous cocktail bar(I've noticed there were few people not so many seated). Maybe they should have a premium menu and one targeting more young clientele who is on a budget. Overall, I will come back, since I live in Athens. My friends who came to visit me from Italy were impressed with both the view and the quality of the cocktails (Milan standards honestly).

PS. I'm a serial reviewer so please leave a like if I helped you out choosing or not this...

My wife and I aren’t regulars at high-end dining places like this, but, we have had the pleasure of dining in a few around the world, which gives us some points of comparison. Anyway, we decided to splurge a bit and see what the fuss was about. The view? Stunning. The food? Mostly great. But the service? Well, it could be better.

The Good Bits: The food was excellent, a real treat! The Tsakonian Aubergine was something special, and the Tarte Citron Vert was amazing. The view from the restaurant was absolutely breathtaking, making the dining experience feel even more special.

The Not-So-Good Bits: Sadly, one of our appetisers went missing and this only became apparent when our mains arrived. We declined the offer to have it prepared again - didn't seem right with our mains already on the table.

The wine list was a bulky one (over 100 pages!), and finding a simple Rosé turned into a bit of a comedy sketch. The list got taken away before we even chose anything! We laughed it off and asked for it back. And, when the wine did arrive, it felt like it was on holiday, both it and the water preferred to stay in their cooler far away from our table, and our glasses were often left looking lonely/empty. Just leave the water on the table?

Final Thoughts: All in all, it was a decent experience. The food and the view were the highlights, but when you visit a place like this, possibly just once, you’d expect the service to be on par. It seemed a bit steep price-wise, especially with the...

Thinking if I want to go back to Greece again this year! We went in 2021 and it was amazing! I loved every moment of it and thought I’d share where we went when we were there. #viralreels #trendingreel #trendingreels #exploremore #mykonosgreece #mykonosreels #greecetravel #greecelife #greecereels #greeceinstagram #moonbeach #greecegram #travelgirlsgo #fashionandtravel #travelinstyle #travelgoals #vacationgoals #dametravel #dametravelers #dametravelerhotels #travelandleisure #travelandexplore #globetrotting #covidtravel #covidtraveldiaries #travelgirlstyle #designercommunity #luxurytravel 1. Athens - you want to see the ruins, walk around the city, go to the rooftop at @hotelgrandebretagne 2. Milos - go there for a few days, stay at milos cove for a more private experience and visit moon beach 3. Mykonos - I was surprised by how much I loved it! Old town Mykonos was still pretty crowded but the beaches were actually beautiful, water clear and I got a frappe and spinach pie every morning! 4. Boat day - the waters are sooo beautiful in Greece and doing a boat day near any of the islands is 100% worth it! 5. Santorini - if you’re in Greece, you gotta see the sunset in Oia! It’s super crowded so you should get there early and get a spot for sunset!
