Holy Llama — Restaurant in Athens

What can I say except… amazing!!! I was delighted to find a vegan bakery right next door to our vegan hotel! The treats from this bakery were the #1 vegan bakery items I have ever had - and I’ve tried a fair share of vegan baked goods! I highly recommend trying the wonder wheels, I had the pistachio and the caramel, caramel being my favorite! The cinnamon roll had the perfect cream cheese flavor. My husband enjoyed a bugatsa, a hazelnut truffle cake, and a raspberry truffle cake type item. On top of their amazing array of sweets, they also do fantastic savory items. I enjoyed a croissant caprese sandwich and my husband enjoyed a croissant hot dog. The staff was very sweet and helpful. We noticed their professionalism and how great they worked together. They have excellent work ethic! An added bonus, their bathroom downstairs is adorable and picture worthy (you’ll get it when you see it!) and we got an adorable Holy Llama sweatshirt to commemorate a great stay. Terrible experience, the service is very poor. The food is cold and poor quality, we ordered bagels but they brought normal bread and said that is ok as they don’t have bagels but we said that the waiter did not tel us about it, but they do t care at all. In the bagel the avocado was rotten, the bread dry, the scramble cold. The drinks are separate story, they were tying to prepare double espresso and matcha latte for about 20 minutes. And when the drinks arrived they were so bad in matcha you could feel the powder bites and it was cold, espresso was as well cold and without proper foam o the top. Also it was extremely crowded even our waitress told us that she hates working here as it’s terrible conditions she cant even move through the tables. Holy Llama is a new vegan bakery at the heart of Athens just a stone’s throw from Syntagma square with amazing high quality products. A rich menu includes croissants with chocolate, peanut creme which is a must and it’s amazing! Various cakes, sweets, pies, hot dog (stunning!), coffees, sandwiches and a brunch menu!

The place is very beautiful with earthly colors and it transmits calmness. It has an outside area with tables and stools and an inside area where customers can seat and enjoy their treats. Music is great and fitting for the place as well!

This awesome bakery is highly recommended for anyone who wants to try something new and different, it’s not a place for vegans and vegetarians only, it’s easily a place where everyone can go and eat and there’s no way a non vegan won’t like...
