Ionos Plaka — Restaurant in Athens

I stopped by early on a holiday weekend (9:30am) after touring the Acropolis, and it was a perfect break for my feet. It was pretty empty at that hour save for a few families. It’s on a really lovely walk street among many other sidewalk cafes and restaurants, so the vibe was quaint on this quiet morning. I’m sure it gets crowded as the day goes on!

The server seated me promptly at one of the front tables, next to a fan (thankfully!). They brought out water in a bottle (no charge) and took my order promptly.

Despite it being so early, the confirmed the whole menu was available, including lunch/dinner items. I ordered a classic Greek salad as I was craving something fresh to escape the heat. Food came out quick and was beautiful and delicious!

Warning: all the olives i’ve had at restaurants in Greece have the pits, so be careful!

Meal was very affordable, I believe €10 for the whole entree size salad.

Would definitely go back next time I’m in the area and recommend others try them out among all the other...

We’ve been here three times because of the stuff, they’re really nice and lovely. The day we arrived we had breakfast, they have the most delicious coffee I had in Athens. Portions were bigger than we expected, and quality is a plus. We went back for some drinks and the next day for lunch. Moussaka is delicious, just done, served in a clay pot. We ordered grilled mix, burrata, pizza and the best part: chocolate pie. I have no words to describe that pie, I truly recommend everyone to try it. I don’t usually like chocolate pies, they’re or too dry or too sweet… but this one was perfect, moist and soft, with a good amount of ice cream and not too much syrups. Everything has always been perfect, the waiter even helped us with some info about the city and the best way to reach...

Great little place in Plaka. Good food, good atmosphere & the very friendly staff made me feel at home during my solo trip. I ended up eating here several times & worked remotely for the afternoon as they had a good WiFi connection. Tried some of the neighbouring places, but was food wasn’t as good! If you’re looking for a reasonably priced place in Plaka, with good food, WiFi and a friendly atmosphere... this is where you should go. I’ll be coming back to Athen in a few weeks and will definitely...
