This French inspired bakery and patisserie, that is housed in a renovated old low-rise house in Ilisia, is another great addition to the Athens foodie scene! 😊😊
Here you will find many varieties of quality breads that are matured and freshly-baked on the spot daily. 👍😋👍
After entering the shop, you can often see the bakers at work in the kitchen corner and sometimes replenishing the various display glass boxes and counter shelves with tempting looking dessert/ pastries and individual puff pastry pies & mini quiches.
The baguettes are extremely popular and nowadays come in a few varieties. I really like them, although sometimes I feel they are a bit dense ... but always great for all sorts of options, including easy2make luncheon sandwiches! 😋😍😋
The last time I went into the shop I got a yummy chocolate roll and yummy Madeleines as well as a fruit bread that I hadn't seen before that is made with all sorts of yummy ingredients that sounded delish & filling ... & I believe perfect for picnics or wandering expeditions!

Also the seasonal (?) pistachio-orange blossom babka is a real treat. No English labels in the displays but if you know your French pastries, you’ll recognize them, and the ladies who work there are always happy to help with explaining...
Read moreThis place is very slow and that's one of the reasons for the long queue outside. Even during the morning rush hours there is only one person, who takes and prepares the orders, gets the payment and goes around the shop to make the coffee - just one person. Clearly the waiting time is way longer than all the other bakeries. The bread and all the pastries are amazing but the queue is definitely unavoidable and the fact that they are not putting more staff makes me wonder if they just want to keep the illusion of...
