Hestia Dimitressa 4, Luxury Apartments ||We continue to enjoy apartment living when traveling! When one has spend a lifetime associated with Hotels, then the more independent stays become for us the places we enjoy most!||In Athens, we found such a place, called Hestia Luxury Apartments! very new (I think in the apartment we stayed, no one has lived in before) it was in pristine condition!||All amenities were available, including a fairly decent kitchen (albeit pots and gear didn’t quite match the ceran stovetop & the Whirlpool Microwave/grill combination! ) ||Part of the kitchen was a dining top with two high chairs, making it convenient to consume a meal! Fridge is excellent, work top plenty of space! Well done!||The living space with a small/narrow balcony at the end, was great, wish there was an extra chair, only a sofa and a desk with chair, but still ok, we managed!||All plugs next to bed had USB connections, which was great, lighting overall well planned and perfect!||The bed area, was separated by a glass enclosure, adding the feeling of space to the whole unit which is very spacious!||Bathroom catered for a decent shower, but a major shortcoming is that there are no shelves at all, just two drawers beneath the sink! Difficult for a Lady to put all her needed things! Yet the shower worked well and generally all good!||Rooftop Terrace, a well appointed place that is perfect for breakfast or evening cocktails! (Self catered, no service) just pack your desired things, take elevator to top floor, one flight of stairs up, and you have a scenic view of Athens rooftops! Great place to spend a couple of hours relaxing!||If you drive, the car park was almost perfect, except the access which was super tight, but once in, perfect, (in Athens this is a must, with most roads barely wide enough to drive through) and road side parking next to impossible!||Attraction such as acropolis and markets, city Center are 15-25 minutes away by driving!||Overall we enjoyed a week’s stay at this place and Dan be highly recommended if this is your thing!||#magicalholidays#thetourist #greece #athens...

Read moreSpotless and spacious apartment in a beautiful location, close to the metro (2 min from Megaro Moussikis) and within walking distance of several good restaurants (eg Agora Select). Roof terrace with views of Lycabettus Hill. Breakfast not provided, but excellent baker at the metro entrance (Megaro Moussikis) serving all kinds of pastries, coffee and juice. Eat in or take away. These apartments are "luxury apartments" - we stayed in 105, which was obviously a wheelchair accessible apartment. There were unfortunately a number of things we didn't like; the bathroom was actually a "wet room" - nowhere to put anything so everything (toothpaste, razor brush, creams, etc.) stayed on the desk section of the main room. The shower was a hand held shower with a manual mixer tap - so freezing/hot if anyone else flushed the toilet. Why they didn't invest a little more in a column with a thermostatic valve I don't understand. Water went everywhere and we had to use a towel to stop it from coming out under the door. You will get your feet wet every time you go to the toilet if someone has used the shower. (maybe put a squeegee in the bathroom). In the main room, someone thought it was a good idea to hang a large TV screen from the ceiling at head height (there was already a TV in the living area!) so you bang your head every time you walk anywhere in the room. (stupid and unnecessary furnishings); at night you will need a face mask - the thermostat is right next to the bed and glows all the time - we couldn't find a way to turn it off. In the corner of room the fuse box flashes blue and white and you feel like you're next to a Christmas tree. Inside the wardrobe there is a safe for your personal items - but again, unlike other apartments we have rented, the safe is a small version and not big enough for a laptop. Choose carefully the room and...
