I honestly don't recommend this place to anyone. They ruined the whole experience for us. We ordered just 2 fish soups and bread. The food wasn't bad but the service was just awful. We wanted to pay by card but the restaurant's bank terminal was broken. The waiter tried to fix it for about 20 minutes and we just sat and waited. Then an American woman probably the owner or manager of the restaurant came and tried to fix the terminal too. When they failed, they asked us to withdraw money from the ATM. I think it's not right to go and make customers withdraw money from an ATM. You can see that the restaurant is not working on their reputation and respect for their customers. Because we only ordered 2 soups for €20. They should have just given them to us for free and that's it so they didn't ruin our nerves. Instead they kept us for 35 minutes just to pay! We were not even offered any compliment from the restaurant for such a long wait. As they say «fish rots from the head», what kind of manager or owner is American, so is the staff. If the bill was at least €40-€50 I can still understand to keep us, send us to go to the ATM. But when it was 2 soups, for the sake of respect for their customers, they could have just let us go as the situation was. Bottom line: terrible service and approach...
Read moreAs commented here the service is stressed and unmotivated. They were very busy directing us into the restaurant but the same guy did not communicate with us ever again when we (nonetheless) decided to go there.
We were asked for drinks very soon after we sat down, but then it took some time until somebody took our food order. This seems to be a tactic to force people to stay. When we finished some stressed women took our plates without any communication. I witnessed her considering to take my plate while my partner was still eating.
The pay situation was also awkward. As German were not quite used to waiters taking all the money to the register to return the change. They should know that I guess - the situation was that some Guy, obviously the boss took the money but gave it to some other waiter to get the chance. This again took some time, and I was not sure whether they thought I gave an extremely high tip. Awkward situation that made me ask for the chance (as the guy who collected the money just stood there afterward).
However: the food we got was good, portions a little less than you’re used to in Greece and of course no dessert, raki or something.
Overall no...
Read moreWe ordered octopus, tagiatelle with shrimps two times and a lamb and white wine. In the beginning a waiter gave us a plate of bread - dry with no adds. Then we got our dishes, octopus was burnt far too much, tagiatelle with tomato sauce and shrimps was good but my friend got a stomachache for the rest of the evening. When we asked for the bill we had to pay 3,50€ for the bread that wasn’t our choice. When I asked why he added the bread that we didn’t order he said to me - nothing is for free. He was very rude to me. Generally during our dinner waiter was coming to us couple times to check if we finished and if we left money. This was my second holidays in Greece - every time I was amazed by kindness of local people. For every meal we were getting starters and desserts and Raki for free even that we were full and didn’t ask for it. This was the first dissapointing dinner in Greece, I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. Day earlier we were at Gioma 50 meters from La Strada - it was 100000% better,...
