As a person with multiple years of customer service - including restaurants - under my belt, I frankly want to warn you to STAY AWAY. I have never seen such a horrible customer experience let alone in a restaurant that we paid 80€ for two people.
We both loved the food but the experience really ruined the whole thing for us.
What made us sit there was the Trip Advisor recommendation and the menu it had. The waiter was so bad he ended up slowing down his coworkers - I could see it in the other waiters’ eyes.
Everything was fine up until the appetizers came. We sat on our table at around 14:30. We ate the appetizers and then patiently waited for our food. Our main dishes came at 16:30 I kid you not.
We were forgiving at that but then it just kept getting worse. We asked for two drinks, they didn’t come. We asked for the heating stoves to be turned on as the ones next to the other tables were and they never turned them on. We asked the waiter to cancel our drinks and his answer was the unthinkable “they are already charged”, so we took them with us home as we were MADE to pay for them.
After all this it is the first time in my life I had to ask FIVE TIMES TO PAY OUR BILL. Like I can understand if you simply don’t care for anything but don’t you care to get your money? The waiter wasn’t even looking at our table. They also didn’t give me the receipt though it was printed and I saw it, they kept it when we left.
TL;TR: I find the customer service disrespectful in proportion to the hard earned money we had to pay to enjoy our meal in Corfu. My experience in this restaurant was the worst experience I had in my life in the restauration industry as a whole.
RESPONSE I selected cheese pie as there wasn’t an option for the feta with honey we ordered. I am not satisfied with the comment that I might be wrong on my review. Of course I picked the correct restaurant as I double checked the address too. I am attaching some pictures too so that I am not...
Read moreI was extremely disappointed. I came into this restaurant (highly recommended by all the lists and ChatGPT) and I was expecting a bit more. I will preface saying that American food service quality and speed is different and was not used to compare the quality of service today. I sat down solo and there was just a massive table—no space in between them. It seemed very communal and you could hear everyone’s conversation around you. I knew what I wanted to order within 2-3 mins and I patiently waited for at least 10 mins and then started making eye contact with the waiter each time he passed by. Almost 25 mins passed by where I was just making clear eye contact in the nicest way possible and he comes over and says sorry that it took so long to come back. I know I could’ve been more proactive but he was always going to another table with food or drink or clearing the other table so I didn’t have any chance to rationally stop him. I ordered three things, pita bread, tzatziki and the Greek ratatouille special along with a glass of wine. After that the wine took at least 10 mins and 15 mins after that he comes to confirm that I ordered pita and tzatziki—possibly to confirm because he had forgotten to place to order in the first place. That comes out 5 mins later, he then tells me an hour into me sitting down that the ratatouille is not available. I was visibly upset as I was just hungry. I just asked for the check. Upon paying before leaving I asked why he waited so long to tell me about my food not being available and he made me the villain by saying this was just my holiday and that he is the one that runs around every day. I just felt that was so unprofessional and a terrible ending to a some good food but very mediocre experience. I...
Read moreWow-----EXCELLENT EVERYTHING. Aegli restaurant is located in Corfu town in a highly touristed area . I was expecting a decent meal in a good atmosphere but was pleasantly surprised by a great meal with excellent service by Spiros!!! . The restaurant is huge with tables covering both side of the duel entry restaurant . There is a larger seating area on the castle side and a smaller side along the shaded alleyway in Corfu town. We opted for the people watching seats located along the strollers alley on the Corfu town side of the restaurant. People watching was wonderful tableside. The food was amazing--we ordered the eggplant dip with fresh baked bread--WOW...loaded with garlic and just wonderful with the freshly homemde bread. The Soufrita was excellent too. A perfect blend of spices and flavors with tender sauteed beef....Excellent Spiros was great as our server. We will be back before we leave Corfu . Highly...
