Rude waitress, overpriced food, loooong waiting time
On our last day in Corfu, our flight would be in the middle of the afternoon. My husband and I decided to walk around the old town and take pictures. As a Brazilian, I wanted to know this Favela also due to the fantastic reviews. Around 11 am, we got there, and there was already a queue. The hostess informed us that we would have to wait around 20 minutes for a seat. It turned out to be more than 30 - and that's because we agreed to sit at the bar instead of the tables, otherwise it would have been even longer.
After sitting, we quickly ordered light options: he ordered a toast with turkey and cheese, and I ordered a Strapatsada omelette. Twenty minutes waiting for this simple order went by - and no reason to believe that our plates were on the way - I was worried how long it would take to have a desert so I asked the first waitress: “is the desert order going to take this long to arrive as well?” she couldn't understand, or she didn't know what to answer. So she sent the second waitress, who turned out to be extremely rude. At first, I repeated the question - the food has not yet arrived, would it take this long for any dessert to come? Instead of only answering yes or no, she said 15 minutes if the waiting time is expected. But we were there much more than that, more than 20 seated, plus 30 in the queue. Her answer was “no one forced you to come here.” I should have left immediately. I regret I didn't. I pretended that this was not happening and just ordered the dessert. Right after that, our plates finally arrived, and the dessert came in less than 5 minutes after ordering - that was what I wanted to know in the first place.
My husband’s toast was ok, but the omelette was actually scrambled eggs over toast. We ordered a Greek coffee. It came in a fancy espresso cup, which was too small for the traditional beverage and was not very well prepared: the powder was suspended. A Turkish would say that it is because a Greek had prepared it.
Then I used the toilet before going to the airport: disgustingly dirty. And the paper ran out on my turn. I warned both waitresses once I left.
I left thinking that the music selection and the atmosphere were great, the food was okay but overpriced, and the rude service is not worth it. If there is a queue, I suggest going...
Read moreThe food was delicious, both savoury and sweet breakfasts, coffee and matcha too, portions of food are huge, we got free water, place is really nice and charming. We were in the group of 7, we had to wait for the table 10-15 min around 12pm. The reason for 4 stars is that the waitress didn’t have a notebook to write down our order which was big disadvantage. She had to come back to double check our order for drinks, she brought all 6 drinks but she forgot about my coffee. Then when the food was served she forgot about one dish so my friend had to wait while we were already eating. My friend ordered a cake which never showed up on our table. The place was full of people so we understood that they were busy but we couldn’t understand why the waitress didn’t write down to order to make sure everybody gets...
