This is a honest review. After my previous visit some days ago and bad experience with their service, I gave a second try and I went back yesterday to Sayam and they told me they didn't want to serve me anymore. (Few days ago, I went and I didn't feel welcome at all so I complained about it and I wrote a review stating "a rude behaviour from the owner".). There are more reviews with the same issue and not just me!
This behaviour is very rude, I live in Corfu and it is not the first time I go to the restaurant. (The first and 2nd time I went the owner was more polite and service was better) as they want to get "new customers", they were serving me "complimentary ice cream" after dinner. The last time didn't serve me any, but I saw how they were serving to the other tables so I found a very rude, prepotent and unpolite behaviour so I complaint to the owner about it and he told me "it is not your business" ,"if you don't like, don't come back". I was in shock! so I don't understand why these last times I received this bad welcome-treatment, so much different from the previous ones!? I saw that they prefer "the groups of people" Greek ,British, and just thinking of profit! (In summer, owners get crazy, as taxi drivers). As a solo person, (1 person) they are not interested in serving me.... I find this behaviour totally rude and unrespectful!
To be kind, compassionate, loving, with empathy is free! Treat others as you want to be treated! I am thinking to eat at home and stop going to restaurants. It is cheaper, healthier and no headaches! I would write a 0 review if I could! Shame on you!
In honour, without prejudice, ananda

Read moreENGLISH To be honest, I didn't want to write a review of Sayam because of the Thai food, but the owner was so friendly, professional and service-oriented - I wanted to mention that.
According to Google Maps, Sayam is the only restaurant on Corfu that offers Thai food. After a week of tasty Greek food, we were in the mood for something different, so we made our way from Benitses to Sayam.
For starters, I had Chinese ribs - they were really quite good, properly seasoned and came off the bone easily - that's how it should be. My wife had chicken saté - this dish was also delicious - not grilled but still juicy despite everything.
Then I ordered a handful of Thai dishes - PadKapao MuhSab, Yam Nua, Yam Wun Sen Talee and a Tom Yam Goong. Unfortunately, none of them tasted remotely authentic and all of them - except for the soup - were almost neutrally flavoured. On the one hand, this was certainly due to the fact that no coriander was used here, for example, but on the other hand it was also due to the skill of the kitchen crew.
With the yam nua, the kitchen had made a second attempt - the first came with glass noodles, which I have never seen before - but here too the beef was too firm and dry.
I think there is potential for optimisation here - besides the need for ingredients like coriander, nahm pla, pikinu or Thai soy & oyster mushroom sauce - which should also be exploited. Maybe we should have ordered something Chinese and had a better experience with it, I don't want to rule that out.
In any case, I wish the friendly owner of Sayam only the best - he is a real service professional!

Read moreI haven’t eaten Chinese in over 4 years. I went to this place tonight arriving about 7pm. Clean, professional and friendly. It is THE BEST Chinese I’ve EVER had anywhere in UK; including China town. It’s way more superior than you can imagine. Tell the waitress or waiter your dietary needs. That’s how fresh the food is; literally cooked to order. Only the freshest and finest ingredients I kid you not! Every morsel has so many different bursts of flavour!! All the produce is fresh fresh fresh!! No grease, no greasy texture. It’s sophisticated in its display and heaven in the mouth!! 10 out of 10 score. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. NB: book a table if you are planning time specific or there is a group of you. You will see why the tables fill. I was lucky arriving at seven dead on, by eight all tables full. THIS IS NOW MY GO TO PLACE OF CHOICE FOR A NIGHT OUT. Will stay open part of winter until November!! Yay xx You can order take away and drink a beverage while you wait. The dishes are big, I over ordered- ask for a doggy bag/ take away box for leftovers xxx yum yum...
