Tourists Avoid at all costs! Service very slow and selective to whom they serve!!!! After waiting for 20 minutes with no other clients I went up for a 3rd time to ask service and a menu. Even the locals noticed and made sympathetic apologies. Asked the owner what was good on the menu - he couldn’t make any recommendation. Worst table wine I have had in Crete - had fine bubbles, lukewarm and unpleasant to taste. Waited for water that never arrived. Wanted to give this place a 3 but when the food cle out I just could not. This is NOT a restaurant- more like bad petrol station food. Wanted to order takeaway dinner but was so disappointed in my dish I left. Lots of cigarette smoke. Wonder about fake reviews. Looking for authentic Cretan food? Unpretentious atmosphere with small plates to share. Portions are generous and we really could have skipped the tzatziki as we had plenty of food. The Greek salad was beautifully fresh with ample soft feta and yummy Cretan rusk underneath. The pork with wine and mustard had a lovely flavour and the melted cheese on top really made it rich. Of all the local spots, this was by far my favorite! The food was incredibly delicious! We had almost everything on the menu (we were a large group) and everything was beyond our expectations. The host/chef was impressive as she handled all customers and orders with such grace and did not skip a beat! She was the only one working there from what I observed, and still the service was exceptional- she was so kind and did a great job cooking, waiting, hosting, cleaning up, and attending to us.
