What a lovely little place. The food was among the best we've had in Heraklion. Small plates filled with deliciousness, except the salad which was quite sizeable. The staff was very welocming and friendly and translated the Greek menu for us. The locale was very small but picturesque and cozy. Only two tables were avaliable outside and those were already taken. We got a free dessert of ice cream and sweet pancake, together with a bottle of raki. Overall lovely experience with most importantly fantastic cuisine expertly cooked.

We've been to a lot of places in Crete, but we've never had such good service from the owner. He gave us raki and ice cream dessert after meal for us. In fact, this place is the most attractive as it is a place where you can taste various Cretan food at a reasonable price. If you want to be a local in Heraklion for a while, I highly recommend it.

Ci siamo andati perché ci ispirava l’ambiente molto accogliente e “di casa” (oltre che le foto dei piatti) e infatti così è stato. Il posto è attaccato al centro, ma nascosto in un vicoletto silenziosissimo lontano dal chiasso tipico dei locali turistici. Abbiamo mangiato in totale tranquillità, come fossimo a casa, mentre il titolare molto simpatico di tanto in tanto si fermava a chiacchierare con quelli che sembravano più tavoli di clienti abituali. Purtroppo non avevamo molta fame e non abbiamo potuto assaggiare tanti piatti, ma quei pochi mangiati erano tutti incredibili e molto semplici. La tzatziki e la crema di fave alcune tra le più buone assaggiate a Creta, e abbiamo mangiato della verdura bollita pazzesca che non conoscevamo e che su domanda al titolare abbiamo scoperto essere “Vlita” (che non credo abbiamo a Roma); anche le salsicce, la pancetta e la pita molto buone.

Tourists Avoid at all costs! Service very slow and selective to whom they serve!!!! After waiting for 20 minutes with no other clients I went up for a 3rd time to ask service and a menu. Even the locals noticed and made sympathetic apologies. Asked the owner what was good on the menu - he couldn’t make any recommendation. Worst table wine I have had in Crete - had fine bubbles, lukewarm and unpleasant to taste. Waited for water that never arrived. Wanted to give this place a 3 but when the food cle out I just could not. This is NOT a restaurant- more like bad petrol station food. Wanted to order takeaway dinner but was so disappointed in my dish I left. Lots of cigarette smoke. Wonder about fake reviews. Even when I told them that it wasn’t a good experience and the food was not great they just shrugged their shoulders and smiled. Definitely don’t care about...

Looking for authentic Cretan food? Unpretentious atmosphere with small plates to share. Portions are generous and we really could have skipped the tzatziki as we had plenty of food. The Greek salad was beautifully fresh with ample soft feta and yummy Cretan rusk underneath. The pork with wine and mustard had a lovely flavour and the melted cheese on top really made it rich. The minced beef and pork was nice and moist with great flavour and all dishes were served with delicious pita. The grilled pork belly was the star of the show. Of all the local spots, this was by far my favorite! The food was incredibly delicious! We had almost everything on the menu (we were a large group) and everything was beyond our expectations. The host/chef was impressive as she handled all customers and orders with such grace and did not skip a beat! She was the only one working there from what I observed, and still the service was exceptional- she was so kind and did a great job cooking, waiting, hosting, cleaning up, and attending to us.
