Wanted to get a gyros on our last day as we were heading to the airport so we stopped by at this place as it had high reviews. It all started well , we were greeted by one of their employees and they helped us understand the menu. He showed us what each part of the menu was and we explained we wanted gyros , with the meat that is on the spinning barbecue like a typical doner kebab to which the employee replied yes our gyros have that meat and we make it upstairs. We said alright and ordered what they suggested. After we ordered I noticed the first red flag, the employee spoke with the manager in greek and started laughing , after this i watched them make the food and funnily enough they put meat from skewers on a grill and warmed it up, sliced it and put it on the pita. I spoke to the manager letting him know that this isn’t what we wanted , we wanted the doner meat that they promised us beforehand. I asked them to let me see their spinning barbecue upstairs that they told us about to which they refused saying only employees are allowed which was the answer i expected so i asked for a picture of it and they longed that out too and we never got a picture. Overall it was clear that they’re just trying to make money from going behind tourists back and it wouldn’t have been a problem if they didn’t lie about the meat, we would’ve just got elsewhere but they made the wrong decision and they should be shamed about it, a business that doesn’t treat EVERY customer the same is not a business that should have such a high rating and even be successful. To make it all worse the manager was very belittling and told me to sit down and enjoy the food as he guarantees was good which i don’t doubt but it’s just not what we wanted. In the end after a lot of hassle they gave us a refund and the situation was made right however their business ethic remains unchanged. I don’t recommend this restaurant in the slightest. Very...
Read moreI advise you NOT to eat here, unless you want to get conned by the staff. We ordered one chicken and one pork souvlaki, guy at register pressured us to get mixed instead because “it’s very nice”. He did not mention any extra charges for it. The bill came out very high, way more than I’ve paid at any other souvlaki restaurant. When I tried to understand the pricing he goes “just pay and I’ll explain”. Turns out he charged an extra souvlaki skewer per wrap so that it can be “mixed”. When I tried to speak to him about it he just yelled trying to justify the charge. Also the prices we were charged per souvlaki were higher than what it should’ve been…. They rely on tourists not being able to read Greek because when I got my bill I realised he charged us for 2 pork pancetta souvlakis instead of normal pork (hirino). The whole thing felt very scammy. Seems like they just like to take advantage of tourists. Also witnessed some other workers yelling at some other tourists who asked for their souvlakia to be wrapped separately and then were laughing about it behind their backs. Take your...
Read moreWorst experience in our 7 days on the island. They tried to trick us into buying grilled chicken, we specifically asked for gyros, which is rotisserie chicken. After noticing this aspect that the chicken meat is not gyros, but is grilled, they still supported their idea that we should believe it was gyros, but they couldn't prove it to us because, they said, it was cooked elsewhere. Finally, after insistence from us, they admitted that it was not gyros meat, but told us to sit down at the table, that we would not be sorry, that we would see that the grilled meat would taste good too. During the conversation the employees were talking among themselves in Greek and smiling contemptuously. Like I said, worst...
