My recent visit to Crete was highlighted by a remarkable culinary journey at this charming restaurant. Nestled in the heart of the island, it truly is a hidden gem offering the finest Cretan cuisine.
From the moment we stepped in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere enveloped us. The carefully curated rustic decor perfectly complements the rich history and culture of Crete, making us feel connected to the island's soul.
The service we received was second to none. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, adding a personal touch to the entire dining experience.
However, the true star of the show was undoubtedly the food. Every dish was a testament to the culinary excellence the restaurant is renowned for. Fresh, locally-sourced ingredients combined in an exquisite blend of traditional Cretan flavors and innovative gastronomic techniques. The 'ceviche sea bass' was a revelation, and the 'vegan pizza' was quite simply the best I've ever tasted.
In terms of beverages, the restaurant's extensive wine list left nothing to be desired. We had the pleasure of tasting some of the most delightful local wines that perfectly enhanced our dining experience.
Dining here wasn't merely a meal, but a culinary journey that captured the essence of Crete. It is a must-visit for any food lover exploring the island. Looking forward to returning on my next...
Read moreA Must-Visit Spot in Heraklion! Ritz is one of those rare places that truly has it all. Whether you're looking for a cozy coffee spot in the morning, a tasty lunch break, a nice dinner with friends, or just a cool place to enjoy drinks in the evening – it delivers every time.
The food is consistently great throughout the day, with a menu that balances quality, variety, and creativity. You can tell they put real thought into it, not just your standard "café food." The drinks are also a highlight – from well-made coffees to a great selection of drinks that are definitely worth trying.
What really makes Ritz stand out though, is the vibe. It's stylish without being pretentious, lively but still relaxing. Plus, they often organize events that bring a really fun and fresh energy to the place – live music, DJs, themed nights... you name it.
Overall, Ritz is one of my favorite spots in Heraklion. Whether you're local or just visiting, definitely put it...

Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst experience. We were initially told they could serve us beer. Shortly after, a different waiter came over and informed us that they only served spirits, not beer. We explained that his colleague had just told us otherwise, and he eventually agreed to take our order. However, after waiting for about fifteen minutes without being served, the first waiter returned and told us we had to leave, as they had decided not to serve beer after all. We left and went to another establishment where we were warmly welcomed. Needless to say, I will not be returning. As a resident of the city centre of Heraklion, I have never encountered such arrogance and...
