Let me start this way: over the course of 9 days we have had a lot of bad or mediocre or overpriced food on kos in restaurants that all for some reason had a 4.x rating on google.
This one really deserves the praise and 5 stars! The food is both creative and traditional and most of all well made, the service is extremely friendly and attentive, the wines are good as well and it is nicely decorated - you just feel that there are people working here that enjoy what they are doing and are good at it. In Addition, everything is reasonably priced. For 53 Euro we shared
A) pita bread with spreads: split pea spread, Aubergine spread (baba ganoush style) and tsatsiki were all fresh and well made, the pita bread was toasted crispy and overall a good starter
B) Moussaka croquette: very tasty and fun way of enjoying eggplant / moussaka. Good especially with the yoghurt and tomato powder
C) Cheese brûlée: great wine / onion Marmelade on top, nice sugar crunch, great goat cheese and homemade fluffy brioche below. Definitely would eat again, good recommendation from our server.
D) Gyros Bao: hey, finally a Creative way of having this dish! The cucumber gel was a nice addition adding some acidity, the bao dough was well steamed and the crunchy onions provided a nice crisp.
E) Meatballs: Well seasoned and fried and nice combination with the yogurt and beetroot dip. Especially enjoyed the thinly sliced apples marinaded in beetroot juice (I guess) for their texture and fruity contrast.
F) Risotto Stifado: So beautifully arranged! Nice mix between the pickled carrots on top, the base risotto and the black ginger as an acidic counterpart. Also loved the way the Parsley oil was used in the grilled onions on top.
G) Coffee mousse Dessert: thyme ice cream was worth ordering this alone, also very much enjoyed the sesame crunch and mousse. The praline ‚sponge‘ I think I could have done without, but it did add another texture to the dish
H) We had two glasses of the Syrah / Cabernet mix and a bottle of water
We would definitely come back if back on Kos and Are somewhat sad to have not found this gem a little earlier on our trip. Keep it going like this team Broadway, you really have given us a...
Read moreI'm simply flabbergasted! It's one of the very few times I would like to give 6 stars if it was possible. This restaurant is the perfect example of quality dining. The whole atmosphere since you arrive is warm and welcoming. Tables are spacious and perfectly arranged. It's remarkable that the service is operating like a Swiss watch. Everyone is relaxed, knowing exactly what to do and ready to help you. This people love their job! The food is simply excellent! Every single dish is a creation of passion, hard work and respect for the customer. The quality of the ingredients is superior. We had an absolutely delicious and daily fresh salad, full of colours and taste! The starters arrived In perfect temperature. The moussaka croquettes we simly amazing. A simple sample of the highest quality of this place is the bread that arrived with a small dish with top quality green olives and extra vrigin olive oil for dipping your bread. Main course was a beef Steak that was perfectly grilled and served with hand chopped fried potatoes and mushrooms. The divine dish was the shrimp kritharoto. It's one of the most difficult dishes as it's very easy to have the pasta over cooked or not cooked at all! This had the perfect texture and balance, shrimp was excellent seasoned and the plate was just an unlimited pleasure. There is a great selection of high quality Greek wines. Of course every good dinner ends with the perfect dessert! Again the chef made his miracle, creating an apple pie ice cream with panna cotta and caramelised dry fruits. Everything was absolutely delicious but what makes the difference in this restaurant is the people that they work there, friendly, happy, welcoming, top professionals. Thanks you all for the...
Read moreWe were enticed to visit the restaurant by its good Google reviews. Based on the positive reviews, our expectations were very high. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all.
We arrived at the location at 7:30 PM, and all the tables in the outdoor area were marked as "reserved." Only about 20% of the tables were actually occupied. Consequently, we had to sit inside where it was extremely hot. My wife and I initially thought about leaving immediately, but we hoped the food would be very good, so we stayed.
While waiting for our food, we noticed that many tables in the outdoor area remained unoccupied. Unfortunately, the fish I ordered was partially raw. The price was cheap, but the portion was correspondingly small. You can only get full at this restaurant if you order an appetizer, main course, and dessert.
We were appalled because there were still six free tables in the outdoor area when we left the restaurant. These tables remained unoccupied the whole time. Here is my recommendation for interested guests: if you need photos of your food for Instagram, feel free to come here.
Additionally, I have a recommendation for the owner: buy an air conditioner for the indoor area so that guests inside don't have to suffer in the heat. Anyone who calls this place the "best restaurant on the island" must have come from a bad fast-food joint at the airport.
Please, dear tourists, visit one of the beautiful taverns in the city and support the local restaurateurs. I will never visit this restaurant...
