Mystilli meal & grill — Restaurant in Municipality of Kos

I find Kos an island with a very good standard of food. It is very easy to eat well and mist places although they do similar menus very often they have something else on offer. We went to this restaurant just because we were looking for a place to eat and we didn't want to walk a lot. Now, I'm an ex-chef and I recognise good food when they have gone every extra bit to make it as good as it gets. That's what this restaurant is. I saw a mystery dish of the day. I asked what it was and it turns out to be super slow cooked in wood fired oven belly of pork. So absolutely beautiful the sauce and accompanying garnish being equally carefully prepared. Loved the place so much that we went back. This time I went for simple fried calamari. Unsurprisingly that was anything but standard. Best I have had by a mile and those chips, you won't believe it until you try them. As it happens we got talking, they are two brothers,Eri and Nicos, originally from Albania but came to Greece when kids. To say they are friendly is an understatement. And surprise surprise Eri knocks best daiquiris too. Going again tonight...

Don’t miss this place 💫 No words to describe their food. I ordered grilled sea bream and garlic bread. Fish is one of the toughest dishes to prepare “right” and the taste was delicious till the last bite, flawless. Let alone the garlic bread that I guarantee you never had like it before (spoiler alert! Garlic taste is apparent, yet magnificently done with other ingredients, you should figure). The service is top notch, friendly, helpful, and welcoming above and beyond. We went for the pork chop, we had the pork chop, didn't waiver on choice, and OMG - absolutely stunning. Not just the meat, which by the way where does the rest of the 'chop' cut go in the UK?! because this cut was 2/3 the size of the UK 'chop'! The accompanying veg, potatoes, coleslaw just so tasty! Wish we had returned for a second night, so regret it now we are home. Would absolutely recommend a visit here. Heard someone on he next table commenting on how delicious the moussaka...
