Very good pizza with friendly service. We arrived at Mama Rosa's at around 1130 ready to eat pizza. We were warmly greeted by the hostess / waitress/manager to an outside table for 6 . The table was perfect ( under the overhang and in the shade) with a unobstructed view of the street which made for ideal gawking of the comings and goings of people bustling along the sidewalk and bike lanes. After ordering we sat back and just watched everything as we waited for the pizza 🍕. It only took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. We had ordered an Italian 🍕 pizza --- cherry 🍅 tomato, garlic, cheese, Italian spices. It smelled delicious as it sat there while we waited for it to cool off a bit. Once cool enough to eat, we started to sampled our ordered pizza. Initial reactions were noting the ultra thin crust with a gooey layer of cheese and the wonderful aroma and taste of garlic. The Italian pizza had a perfect blend of cheese and 🍅 tomato sauce and garlic in every bite. Not bready and akso not cracker crumbly but just perfectly constructed and baked to perfection. Service was very friendly without hovering. Prices were very reasonable. Easily accessed by walking up the street from the dolphin fountain about 6 or 7 blocks. An excellent casual lunch. Highly...
Read moreThe food was great, we came 2 times to eat pizza and it was tasty. The place is full in the evenings so I recommend to book in advance, otherwise they will put you in the wait list and give you a table in 35-45 minutes depending on availability. I tried the Meat Lovers pizza, the products were fresh and delicious. The dough does not have much taste, but it is better than other pizza options in the area. The tiramisu was amazing, I am glad I ordered it. There is also a great option to make your own pizza, where you can select all the toppings. My husband did that on our 2nd visit and it turned out really great. The service was a bit slow due to full occupancy of the restaurant, but as long as they bring the drinks, it is all good. The prices are similar to other pizza...
Read moreI am sorry but I really don't understand why this place is so busy. I am reluctant to leave a review to be honest but after visiting other restaurants in Kos and seeing how much better they are I wouldn't want people to waste an evening meal here. Price wise, quite expensive. Only bottles of expensive wine compared to carafes at every other restaurant in Kos. The pizzas as flat as a pancake, no puffy crust, taste bland, burnt on the base and they are not cooked in a proper pizza oven like you would expect from a proper pizzeria. Instead an electric oven which will never produce the same quality as a proper pizza oven. I had to put my own chilli flakes on the pizza to try and make it taste of something. Had no effect. However the chips...
