Umbra is easily one of my favourite cocktail bars in Kos. Visited this June with my mum and we went 5 times in 11 days. The atmosphere is really chilled, the setting is beautiful and the people are lovely. Maria is one of the nicest people we met, she made us feel like we were friends each time we went, she recognised us from the end of the street and waved us in. We loved her chats and her drinks recommendations. Pavlos always said hello and asked how we were which is a really nice and attentive touch, it makes you feel really welcome when the staff and owners remember you. Not all of the people working in Kos are as lovely. The cocktails are some of the best we had, they use really high quality spirits, they’re not full of ice or watered down, the alcohol and flavours are perfectly balanced. We loved the Margarita, the Paloma and the White Gold cocktails the most. We didn’t try the food but it looked great. We would definitely recommend this bar if you’re going to Kos and we’ll be going back...
Read moreWe absolutely loved Umbra Bar in Kos! This place is a gem with its genuine service, fantastic cocktails, and top-notch coffee. It’s the perfect all-day and night venue with a vibe that keeps you coming back. We stayed in Kos for three days and found ourselves at Umbra every day.
A special shoutout to Manager Maria, who is exceptional in her service, and barman Vassilis, who is a true master mixologist. The day-time service from Igor was also fantastic—every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional.
The seating under the ancient tree shades keeps the place cool and comfortable, no matter the time of day. We highly recommend trying the "Rising Sun" from their signature cocktail list—it’s a must! And don’t miss out on their burger; it’s delicious. The coffee here is hands down the best on the island.

Read moreI wanted to sit there and drink a cocktail or two. All the tables were occupied except one. After asking the waitress, I sat down at the indicated table. Less than a minute later, another waitress appeared and told me to leave the table as I was alone and five other people came in a moment later. The place was not booked and was pointed out to me by another waitress. I don't know how a customer can be thrown out like that. Since I came alone, I was told to move to the inside of the bar. So if you would like to sit there alone… you’re not welcome. I have never encountered such discrimination. I would not recommend this bar to...
