Me and my girlfriend booked this restaurant a day before we dined, we requested a sea front table, which were not able to have, but as we booked so soon before our reservation, we kindly obliged and understood. However, this is were our niceties ended. We felt so incredibly discriminated against compared to the service we saw others recieving, even the table directly next to us (we think it may have been because we were young, or maybe we were not wearing enough designer clothing for the restaurants liking) We did not spend frugally, we ordered wines, appetisers and mains. We saw tables around us constantly checked up on, even pouring their wine for them when their glasses were low. we were not once asked how our food was, in fact our waiter never even looked us in the eye. The appetiser- the greek appetiser selection for two was €23.50. it was an absolute joke. Me and my girlfriend are knowledgeable on food and i have worked in kitchens for many years. Every part of the appetiser selection was completely tasteless and had no care put into the presentation. it was without a doubt store bought. luckily we had salt, pepper and olive oil provided (from lidl btw, insane given the prices of this ‘fancy’ restaurant) which helped the taste somewhat. My girlfriend’s main was tasty, the sauce and pasta were very nice. However, we are hugely suspicious that the seafood was frozen, and to get one scallop and one prawn in a pasta is laughable. I know the waiters might have thought we were poor nobodies, but actually we are very clued up on good food, and regardless, this should not affect the service or the quality of food we recieve. My main however was a disaster. It was a mockery. Pictures are inserted but please, judge for yourself, how does my Tuna look to you? It was grey, rather tough, and lacked any flavour (thank god for the lidl accompaniments). they asked how i wanted it cooked, i requested rare, the avg cook time for a tuna steak at this temp should be around 2 mins each side, thus how could there be such weak grill marks and lack of sear? Anywhere else, especially with great service, i would have accepted this, but this was not the case for this venue. To top it all off, despite spending a very reasonable amount, tables around us were presented with complimentary deserts (two ice creams) while we were not. We felt extremely discriminated against for whatever reasons, and we truly believe the reviews calling this place racist are not exaggerated given the service we were provided. Overall food- okay, not worth the price. The service? deplorable, in-fact absolutely horrendous. This restaurant has been open for many years, yet they still haven’t mastered how to treat a customer. More than anything we are hurt by the service we recieved. We weren’t frugal, we spent good money, and we felt as if we were nothing more than an annoyance to the staff. Also there was urine all over the men’s toilets ??? but that’s the least of our worries to be honest (which tells you a lot about the experience we had) So, unless you are an influencer or a very wealthy person, stay away from this place, because you will be judged upon entrance and given very poor service and subpar food.
edit: had diarrhoea...
Read moreOur visit to Apaggio Seafood Restaurant in Mykonos was, unfortunately, a disappointment. We were in Mykonos for four days, and our hotel recommended this spot, but we left wishing we had chosen differently.
First, the reception was cold, and to make matters worse, there were cats everywhere—something I wasn’t prepared for, given my phobia. When we asked the host about menu items, he seemed visibly annoyed. We understand that we're tourists, but the difference in his attitude between us and the locals dining there was noticeable.
For appetizers, we ordered the pork sausage and the cheese and onion pie, followed by fresh fried calamari and the fish of the day. When I asked what the fish of the day was, I got a curt "sea bass" as if my question was an inconvenience. My husband then asked if we could have it fried instead of grilled, and the host instead recommended small fried fish. We took his suggestion—something we regretted, especially given how the rest of the service played out.
The drink experience was no better. I asked about ouzo, and the host simply said, "local alcohol" with little effort to explain further. When I inquired about the difference between ouzo and tsipouro, his response was vague at best. The ouzo arrived at 40% alcohol, and when I asked if I could switch to a cocktail or even a sangria, they didn’t have either. By this point, it was clear that asking for anything was an inconvenience, so I just settled for water.
Between the indifferent service, the unwelcoming atmosphere, and the subpar food, I simply wouldn’t recommend this place. Mykonos has far better restaurants where at least you’ll be treated well—Raya and Obati, for example.
The final straw? The bill. For all the lackluster service and mediocre food, we paid nearly 80 euros. Worse yet, we were charged for a beer we never opened and had returned. It was only when my husband pointed it out that the host casually said, "Oh yeah, let me remove that."
All in all, I'd rather catch my own fish and fry it than...
Read moreI would rarely give a negative review, but for the shear audacity of being treated like fools and lied to, I have to give an honest review of our experience here. We had booked this restaurant 3 months prior to our arrival at Mykonos. When we arrived we were were seated at a table where we had a view facing the wall, even though there were ample tables that were available by the waters edge. When we asked to be moved to one of these available tables, we were told to be "patient" and he would move us a little later. Believing him, we ordered drinks and starters and after an hour later we knew that we had been deceived and decided to get up and leave before ordering our main meals. The irony is that we found out that they reserve these tables for the "tourists/foreigners" (even though we were from Melbourne Australia and you could not be any further away from Mykonos, but, because we spoke Greek we were treated like low class commoners), and to "rub salt into the wounds" it took three attempts and eventually had to walk across the road to have paid with a Centurion Black Amex... I seriously don't know how people have given this restaurant a 5 star review, LOL... Save your time and effort and book at the Kuzina/MyAmmos (we dined here several times) or Buddha bar beach and be treated like royalty and enjoy the exceptional cuisine and spectacular views they...
