Baboulas Ouzeri — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

I don't normally give reviews for countries I've visited. But I had to on this occassion, as Mykonos has been a unique experience and I was amazed by how well you're taken care of as a tourist. One of the places that I feel had exceptional customer service, is this particular restaurant. I decided to dine alone one evening and chose this place, as the view from the dining area caught my eye. I was welcomed by a very friendly host called Christos. Who helped me find a vegeterian meal as I cannot eat non-halal meat. Christos then took me to a table, and introduced me to two other staff members Elena and George, who were occupying another customer dining alone. When Christos notified them I was dining alone too. They made me feel welcome and told me I could join them and introduced me to the other customer, so that we're not eating alone.

The fact that they used extra time to make sure that we're ok and not alone, was incredibly sweet and thoughtful. They also had delicious and generous portions of food. It was so good, I came back twice! LOL. Best place to eat.

On my 3rd birthday visit to mykonos last month, I was trying to avoid visiting same restuarants this year, but I noticed a new entry to the menu of Baboulas. It was a dessert this time, Dubai Style Pistachio Baklava! My favourite flavour in a dessert, so how could I resist? I had to come back and try this new addition, plus how could I not pass by and visit the friendliest dining venue in Mykonos Town. Ofcourse I also brought along a new fellow solo traveller to join me here so that she can also enjoy the experience visiting here during sunset. We both ordered dessert. And we loved it. Got more than we bargained for, as we got to watch the waiter make the baklava infront of us. It felt like a little show and made the experience of dining here unique. The baklava was also delicious and as always great customer service here. Its like a little social party in this venue. Whether you are alone or with friends, you will defo have a good time here. We also met the face of the venue, Baboulas, he too was also friendly and warm. Make sure you vist this venue when you come to Mykonos.

A Must-Visit for Seafood Lovers in Mykonos!

We wanted to try seafood in Mykonos and came across Baboulas Ouzeri, which had an impressive 4.8 rating from over 1,500 reviews on Google. It absolutely lived up to the reviews — this was hands down the best meal we had during our trip.

We started with the Shell and Cream — a must-order! The broth was rich and flavourful, and the seafood was incredibly fresh. The mussels could have been slightly larger, but they were clean, juicy, and had no stale taste. The prawns were big and succulent.

A special mention goes to Denys, our server, who delivered truly excellent service. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and took time to explain the differences between the fresh fish options — sea bass, sea bream, and red snapper — without any pushy upselling. We eventually chose the red snapper ($85/kg), and it was grilled to perfection with the right texture and flavour.

We also appreciated his honest and thoughtful wine recommendations. Instead of steering us toward the most expensive bottles (as you might expect in a tourist-heavy area), he offered three excellent choices ranging from $40 to $47. That kind of sincerity and professionalism really stood out.

To top it all off, the owner personally walked around greeting guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
