Afternoon receptionist is a nightmare. Booked a seaview room three months prior to arrival and checked in, given a room with a view of a ragged parking lot with over grown bushes. $260 euro a night for that? Yeah right. Went back to reception and she called reservations and shuffled us to another room. Warning, “seaview room” means in the back of the hotel, in the corner of the patio, that you have to share with you neighbor! What the hell?!?! Also no reason given on why they tried to give us a parking lot room. I asked for a nicer room to which they said they were fully booked. So I guess we took someone else’s seaview room and they had to shove someone else in our parking lot room that they were trying to pawn off on some poor soul. Wasn’t a great way to start the stay and they never apologized for all the hassle and delays.
Second incident was when we tried to get a cab to Chora. Round two with the nightmare afternoon receptionist. She said ok and told us to have a seat. She made a call and never updated us, we sat there for 45 mins waiting and grew frustrated, so we asked the bellhop Dionisis what was going on and he had to run and find out from her and act like a liaison between us and her. Finally he said that the cab phone line is busy and there was no answer. (Fine just tell us so we don’t have us wait 45 mins for nothing!) He advised us the bus was leaving in 10 mins so we ran and caught that. I suggest Petinos do yourself a favor and make Dionisis the afternoon receptionist and get rid on that women as he was friendly, warm, and VERY welcoming the entire stay as well as actually HELPFUL.
Oh and the dead plants by the pool were truly...
Read moreIt's always hard to tell whether you've booked a great hotel and location when you book online. I did a ton of research and came across this hotel because Santorini Dave recommended it. I will say Petinos Beach Hotel was perfect on all fronts. Everything about this hotel was absolutely fantastic. The location is honestly perfect, Platis Gialos is honestly the best beach in all of Mykonos. We rented an ATV and toured around the entire island and confirmed this. Not only is it absolutely stunning, but the beach is sandy (not rocky like a lot of the others) and has a ton of great restaurants. It's got more of a chill, family vibe. Perfect for us since we were on our honeymoon. The hotel location is absolutely perfect, you get to lay on sunbeds by the pool (FOR FREE - ones on the beach costing $50-$100/day) and look over the ocean without having to deal with pesky sand. Honestly, it's so ideal. We had a sea-facing room that had a balcony that overlooked the pool/ocean and one of our favorite things to do was sit there every night and watch the sun go down. I do want to shout out to the staff, Voula, Gregory, (another lady with dark hair) were fantastic and super knowledable of the island and things to do. They arranged pick up and drop off at the port, ATV rental, and a sailing cruise. I love that the transport two and from the hotel was free of charge, and the breakfast was also free (which we loved!!) . Would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone...
Read moreWe were invited to a wedding for the weekend and chose this hotels because it seemed really nice and on the beach. Firstly, the reception area is quite lovely and welcoming. However, the room is nothing like what is shown on the internet pictures. The "jacuzzi" in the bathroom is meerly a tub which you can barely stand in. However, this is definitely not the worst part of our experience. One night, we came back from diner and a friend of mine was walking back to her room. As she passed reception, the concierge touched her inappropriately. This could have been mistake however this happened for 2 nights in a row. We confronted him on the last night to make sure this would never happen again. This mattr was brought to the attention of the Manager. All she found to say was that if it were her she would have punched the concierge. As a consolation, all they offered was a cheap bottle of wine and some fruit. They did not even have the courtesy to come back to us with feedback from the owners and the supposed "talk" they had with the concierge who was on duty that night. So all in all an absolutly horrible experience and i would def not recommend this hotel, specifically for single girls as they have not taken any action in...
