Unfortunately, my experience with Sale e Pepe was very disappointing—not because of the food, but because of the behavior of the staff, particularly one Italian server who made my time there deeply uncomfortable.

As a solo female traveler, I expected to enjoy a relaxed and respectful atmosphere, but instead encountered behavior that was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. One of the servers—an Italian man—was not only rude during service, but also became intrusive and disrespectful outside of his work duties. He knocked on my door in the middle of the night and persistently pushed to meet up, making me feel unsafe. His behavior crossed personal boundaries, and he seemed to be dealing with personal issues or emotional instability, which he projected onto guests.

In the mornings, the restaurant staff and owners would create loud noise from as early as 6 a.m., moving chairs, washing floors, and speaking loudly—despite polite requests to keep it down. When I addressed the noise respectfully, I was met with indifference and even hostility. I was told bluntly that they didn’t care, which was both unprofessional and disappointing.

I do not recommend Sale e Pepe, especially for solo female travelers. While the location might be convenient, the atmosphere and behavior of some staff members can make the experience uncomfortable and even...

Our visit to this Italian restaurant in the center of Mykonos provided us with an average dining experience. Situated amidst the bustling streets of the town center, the restaurant offered a convenient location for a casual meal. The ambiance was lively and welcoming, with a cozy interior and a bustling outdoor seating area perfect for people-watching and live music.

The menu featured a range of classic Italian dishes, from pasta to pizza, but the quality was inconsistent. While some dishes impressed with their flavorful sauces and fresh ingredients, others fell short in terms of taste and execution.

Service was friendly and attentive, with staff members eager to accommodate our needs. However, there were occasional delays in taking orders and receiving food, which detracted from the overall experience.

Although the restaurant in the center of Mykonos may not have been a standout culinary destination, it provided a decent meal in a convenient location. With improvements in food consistency and service efficiency, it has the potential to offer a more memorable dining experience for visitors to the vibrant island. We will...

A Must-Visit Gem in Mykonos Near Fabrika – Outstanding Mediterranean Cuisine

I had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant in Mykonos, just a short stroll from Fabrika, on two separate occasions—and both visits were nothing short of exceptional. The first time, I tried the steak, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. On my second visit, I went for the seafood pasta, and it truly exceeded my expectations. Fresh, rich in Mediterranean flavors, and brimming with high-quality seafood—it was a dish I’ll remember.

What really sets this place apart, aside from the incredible food, is the service. The staff is not only professional but genuinely warm and welcoming. The owner is frequently present and engages with guests in a way that makes you feel like a valued part of the experience.

Whether you're looking for a laid-back lunch or a memorable dinner, this spot is a must-visit in Mykonos. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates excellent Mediterranean cuisine and top-tier...

We had what was easily one of our best dinners in Mykonos last night at Sale and Pepe. A highlight was the truly lovely woman running the front-of-house. Despite the hustle of seating patrons and taking orders, she paused to chat with us, showing a genuine hospitality that made us feel like cherished guests rather than just customers. The food was superb. My steamed mussels were exceptional, presented dramatically on a large shell. The mussels were tender and succulent and flavorful broth that I couldn't get enough of. My wife's main, the Tagliolini with Parma ham and saffron, the pasta perfectly al dente, coated in a creamy saffron sauce balanced by the salty bite of the cured ham. Both dishes were beautifully executed with a lovely presentation. The setting itself was enchanting. The alfresco dining area and the backdrop of gentle Bossa Nova music elevated the meal, if we had even one more night in Mykonos, we would definitely be stopping by this gem again. Highly recommended!

The food at Sale & Pepe is not Traditional Italian Food. Service was friendly and welcoming. After passing by each night as we walked downtown, my partner and I decided to stop in for dinner. Huge disappointment. I ordered a Margherita Pizza. The crust was very thin and had the consistency of a saltine cracker. Big turn off for me as I enjoy a more bread type dough. The red sauce on the pizza had no flavor at all, the sauce was just wet. The cheese had no flavor at all. Not an Italian pizza that I can enjoy. My partner ordered a Calzone with various cheeses, artichokes and sauce. He left half not eaten, the pocket was nearly empty and had no flavor at all. The sauce was blah. Just not what we consider Italian food. We enjoy a more southern Italian flavor of light tomato with mozzarella and spices. Sale & Pepe was such a huge disappointment as the staff are so welcoming.

We went for dinner here on our first night at Mykonos. Best decision ever! Food was outstanding and service was over the roof! Family owned small italian restaurant where all pastas and breads are home made. Had the most delicious mussels as appetizer and then had the seafood carbonara! It was soooo freaking good! No the heavy cream and butter loaded carbonara. This was a carbonara made with olive oil, fish stock and fish eggs. Sooo delicious 😋 Then we asked for the bill and were brought a delicious italian dessert on the house! It was called Semi Freddo (not sure about the right spelling) but it was like a volcano of icecream outside and orange caramel inside. One of the best meals we have had in Greece! And on top, so much fun to chat with our server Nico and the 2 owners about their values and their italian background. Wonderful dinner!
