Before I arrived I had a nice email contact with the reservations manager Anna Ergkenian and the concierge team, Mando Kanonopoulou, who gave me a lot of information about the restaurant Efisia, the highlights of Mykonos and their exclusive experiences like cooking with their chef and a photo tour of the island with a professional photographer.||When I first arrived I was warmly welcomed by a lovely, friendly receptionist with a great smile, Glykeria. She sat me down comfortably in their lounge and gave me a welcome drink while she proceeded with the check-in process. After that she escorted me on a tour through the property where I got to meet more of the friendly staff (the restaurant manager and the spa staff) and then she took me to my room on the 4th floor. When I arrived at my room (416) I was happily surprised to see they gave me a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful room with a jacuzzi on the terrace and a breathtaking view of the Aegean Sea.||My first night I had dinner in the restaurant Efisia, from where you have an amazing view on the romantically lighted pool area and the Aegean Sea. I chose their 7-course tasting menu, and eventhough I have quite some intollerances the chef adjusted each dish professionaly into picture perfect and very tasty plates of food. Especially the marinated crayfish was absolutely delightful! During dinner I even got to meet the chef in person and had the chance to congratulate him personally on his amazing food.|My waiters for the evening were Spiros and Flavio who immediately made me feel at home, gave me great recommendations about drinks and explained each dish perfecty.|They even allowed me to have my dessert the following night after I told them I was full.||The next morning I was warmly greeted by the staff and enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet with a very large variety of local or international savory and sweet dishes and even champagne. They also offer the possibility to have some cooked to order dishes like eggs or pancakes and bring you fresh orange juice and coffee or tea at your table.||As it was still early June there were plenty of free sunbeds (with plenty of umbrellas) at the pool which were really comfortable. The pool itself was a bit cold but since I used it to cool down after some time lying in the sun it was perfect. I also got to use the hotel facilities, like the pool, after check-out time and they have showers under the restaurant to freshen up.||When I arrived for my second stay everyone at reception was happy to welcome me back and I was greeted by friendly faces and big smiles. I checked in to another complimentary upgraded jacuzzi room with a great view of the Aegean Sea, this time on the first floor (107) because I sprained my ankle between my 2 stays and they didn't want me to have to walk too far.||In the evening I had dinner at Efisia again. This time I chose the pita bread with fava, fresh olive oil and olives, which they also served me with the tasting menu on my first stay, to start with because it was so good. As a main course I had the baked gnocchi which was also delicious and a generous portion. The chef recognized me from my first stay and offered me a complimentary dessert. On recommendation of my waiters Spiros and Maria I chose the Galaktoboureko, a custard pie with crunchy buttery phyllo crust and vanilla ice cream, which was great.||My next two mornings I needed some help getting the food from the buffet to my table. One of the waiters, Maria, turned into my personal assistant and catered to my every need. She was always very quick to help me with a beautiful smile. She was amazing!||At the pool the poolboys gave me a sunbed close to the pool and were so kind to help me in and out the pool so I got to enjoy the sun despite of my injury. ||I didn't get to use the spa during my stays so I can't say anything about that but the spa staff seemed really nice.||The hotel also offered me complimentary arrival and departure transfers which was a very nice and appreciated added bonus to my stays.||Needless to say my stay at the Myconian Ambassador was nothing short of amazing! The property, the rooms, the pool and the view make this a great place to stay but it was especially the friendly, smiling and always happy to help staff members that make this place really extraordinary!||Take me...
Read moreOur family (me, my husband, and our two kids aged 21 and 19) spent 3 nights at the Myconian Ambassador on our recent vacation. It is a beautiful property with top-notch service. We entered the spacious white lobby and were greeted by several staff dressed in impeccable white suits, and then invited to sit on the low couches and have a welcome drink while our rooms were prepared. We asked for two rooms close together and they gave us rooms next to each, which was very convenient. It was a little challenging navigating to them (go down a long hall, go up two floors in the elevator, then go around a corner, down a hall, around a turn, another hall and get to the second elevator, then exit, turn to the left, down two steps, a right down an outdoor passageway, and then a left to our rooms), but once we figured that out, we were good! The kids’ room had a tall square shower and a room divider that could be closed to separate the bathroom area from the sleeping area. Our room was an open concept featuring a tall cylinder shower that was dramatic, but we learned it leaked on the back side. Both rooms has lovely balconies overlooking the sea. ||Our room came with a free lunch and we took advantage of that the first day. We had two courses, which honestly ended up being way too much food, but it was all so delicious. We had gyros, seafood pasta, grilled seabass, and lamb chops and some lovely cocktails. And everything was amazing. The service was outstanding. Each time I came to the pool, a waiter quickly brought me a menu, and served me water and beautiful drinks quickly. Once, they brought around ice cream bars for all the guests at the pool. And at the end of the day I was amused to watch them re-aligning each of the sun chairs to line up exactly with the others. ||The breakfast at the Ambassador was outstanding. It has a wonderful buffet of cereals, breads, pastries, fruits, salmon, meats, cheeses, Greek yogurt, jams, spoon sweets, and also a large selection of hot dishes including various sausages, tomatoes with feta, potatoes, baked beans. But in addition to all that, you could order eggs including boiled, fried, scrambled, benedicts and crepes. It was the best breakfast of all the hotels we stayed at on our two weeks’ vacation.
