OMG!!! My other half and I had supper at the Black Stone tonight, and I speak for us both when I say we cannot sing it’s praises enough!! Where do I start…?!

The restaurant has a lovely cosy ambiance, and is run completely by the family who own it! Mother in the kitchen cooking the (delicious!) food, father out front welcoming guests in, and son waiting tables and keeping us all entertained! They are lovely, kind, and clearly hard working people, and were happy to answer all our questions about different dishes and to help us with recommendations.

The service was quick and professional, and the food was OUTSTANDING!!! Really delicious, home cooked, quality food. You can tell it’s been made with love. We had saganaki (my favourite, and the best one I’ve had since we got to the island 5 days ago - ive been having 1 a day 😅), and garlic mushrooms which were also very tasty. For mains I had the king prawns with chips. The prawns were beautifully prepared, very fresh, simply cooked but so flavourful. Served with really delicious home cooked chips. My other half had the lamb kleftico with rice, and WOW!!! We are going to go again tomorrow, and I am ordering the kleftico for sure! So so delicious. Lamb so tender it was falling apart, and sauce so aromatic and full of flavour, soaked up by the (also yummy) rice.

We finished off with the homemade cinnamon topped apple pie with ice cream, and I definitely made the right choice going for the homemade baklava. BEST baklava I have EVER tasted. Not overly sweet like many are, and DRIPPING in butter. Honestly it made me a little emotional 😅🥹. Experiences like this can really make ones day. It gives me/us such pleasure to see a job so well done. Gems like this deserve due recognition!

Looking forward to dinner there tomorrow 😁🤤...

Dined with the family.

We were welcomed at the restaurant and the host was very friendly with our kids.

But after we received our drinks and food it got weird. We weren’t checked on to ask how we were doing and if we needed anything else. When we went to pay we weren’t offered the chance to decline conversion and our charge was converted.

Not really sure what I did to offend the host when I went to order the food.

The cats made dining awkward waiting to be offered food. We told our kids to not feed them to not train the cats to return and bother the future patrons. There were other diners bothered by the cats as well. One of the cats even attempted to climb onto the table.

I kind of wish the restaurant would have offered guidance on how to deal with the cats. Maybe even add a line item on the menu for patrons the opportunity to purchase food...

A lovely meal, beautifully served. Grilled shrimps and fillet of chicken. Excellent home made chips (could have done with a few more) salad, tasty and lettuce based (some delicious Santorinian tomatoes would have been welcome. Small carafe of local red wine better than most. Complimentary liquor offered by owner = a nice gesture. Decided to try the Baklava which came with ice cream. My husband commented that it was up there with the best he had ever tasted and I wholeheartedly agree. The restaurant was not well patronised which was a shame considering how good it was. We felt it would benefit from a less austere look which was not helped by the name. Maybe some flowers and candles would help soften the look and encourage more people to step inside. The proprietor was exceptionally friendly and provided 5* customer service. Absolutely...

This was a bit disappointing. I read the reviews here and thought this was worth a visit. The waiters are very friendly, but the food was a bit average. I got a mix souvlaki as a main dish and my wife grilled vegetables. The chicken was still raw on the inside. The waiter took it back and a few minutes later came back with the same dish, but cooked well now. The surprise came with the bill. Both dishes were magically €2 more expensive than on the menu. €4 in total. When we said something about that, the waiter said it was a mistake, but insisted the second €2 was because we requested the tzatziki (that was included in the souvlaki mix) be transferred to the grilled vegetables. He relented though, and gave us the 4 euros back. After the discussion we were not in for a dessert anymore. A shame really. They shouldn't mess with prices like that.

We stopped to have dinner at Black Stone our first night at Kamari Beach on Santorini. There was something about the waiter out front which told us he had a fun personality. We were right. Better than an engaging interaction with our waiter was the food. We learned during our dinner that this is a family operated restaurant. Mama Letta is the chef. Her husband, Timo, and adult son, Adi, waited tables. This family took over the formerly failing restaurant earlier this year and are building back the reputation with excellent service and outstanding food. We enjoyed our experience so much that we came back our last evening, as did another party we saw and chatted with. I wish I could convey how flavorful the food was and hope my photos do this place justice. Highly recommend! Say hello to Adi and Timo for us when you dine there yourself.

My family and I visited this restaurant twice during our visit to Kamari Beach. My 13 year old son felt in love with the food and service that the owner gave us the first night. He was so placent, so genuinely excited about us being there. We wanted to try local food and ended up in this restaurant. we asked for suggestions, and everything that he recommended was a 10 out of 10... we saw local people that went to this restaurant for food as well, which got me even more excited about our choice. We also heard him communicating in so different languages that I was amazed. We speak Spanish, and he recognized us the second time and greated us in spanish and continued communicating in spanish after that... we love this place and when we come back to santorini we are definitely going to visit him again.
