Enigma Cafe Santorini — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

The location is stunning, but I found the service quite lacking. I was ignored when I walked in, they saw me waiting at the door but kept walking straight past me and seating other people who arrived after me without even acknowledging my presence. I ended up going to an empty table myself and then was ignored for another 10 minutes while the staff took orders from other customers who had arrived after me. I had to flag down the waiter to order. When it was time to pay the bill, they asked me if I wanted to tip and I said no (considering the service I experienced and the fact a single cappuccino already cost 6.50€) and the staff member was visibly annoyed, didn’t even say thank you or goodbye, just handed me my receipt and left. Came at 2PM on a Thursday. I had to walk up to the staff to order. My drink was wrong, but it already took so much time to get it I didn’t want to bother. There seems to only be one server overloaded with tasks, not enough workers. I waited over 10+ min just for one iced latte, the longest I’ve had to wait at any location. The server only tended to 2 tables consistently. I kept trying to flag down the server but the other 2 tables kept butting in and getting prioritized. It felt impossible to get any service. It took over 5min just for the server to be available to let me pay. Tables were constantly not bussed, guests kept taking dirty tables for the views while I was trying to patiently wait for the table to clear up before sitting down. We had a terrible encounter with the host who showed incredible rudeness and lack of professionalism on arrival.

We had called earlier to make a reservation for a party of 3 for sunset and we’re told to arrive early in case sitting became available. And so we arrived - standing at the top of the stairs taking photos and awaiting for availability. A young man comes up the stairs and begins shouting at us for blocking the area - just us 3 - and completely ignores everyone else in the area. He demanded us to leave and threatened to no service us.

We decided to leave because we did not feel they deserved our business.
