I had the pleasure of dining at this charming seaside tavern owned by a seasoned old fisherman, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The daily fresh fish, including the mouthwatering grilled fresh fish and succulent grilled octopus, were an absolute delight for my taste buds. The flavors were like a symphony of the sea, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every bite.

In addition to the exquisite seafood, the icing on the cake was the breathtaking sea view right next to the beach. Dining here was a sensory feast, with the soothing sound of the waves, the salty breeze in the air, and the golden sunsets painting the sky. This tavern's prime location by the beach truly elevated the entire dining experience to a whole new level of paradise. It felt like dining in harmony with nature, making it a must-visit spot for anyone seeking not just great food, but also an unparalleled coastal atmosphere.

The ambiance, with its nautical decor and warm, welcoming atmosphere, transported me to the tranquil shores of a coastal village. The staff's passion for seafood and their attentive service added to the overall enjoyment. I can't recommend this place enough if you're a seafood lover seeking a genuine, mouthwatering experience. Kudos to the old fisherman and his team for bringing the ocean's finest, including grilled fresh fish and grilled octopus,...

We went on a date night as we had been on a busy holiday for a family wedding. I had read good things. We had the house wine which was great value. The starters (tomato balls and saginaki) were very nice and I was expecting great things from there. We were shown the fresh fish to order (what had come in today) and we chose the lobster as a treat. We have had lobster on a few occasions before and always loved it. When it came it looked grand, served on pasta. My partner took all the meat out and we chopped and mixed it in. We expected it to taste different being fresh, but it was very, very, fishy tasting and smelling and did not taste nice like usual. Having since researched it we suspect it was not fresh. Maybe the sun had hit it for too long in the ice box that day or maybe it wasn't the lobster we were sold. We raised the issue to the servers who were just insistent that it tasted this way because it is boiled and we're asking us if we have had lobster before. I have, in Italy, France and the UK which were all tasty, this lobster was not good. They gave us another carafe of wine on the house and that was the end of it. They were nice and we didn't want to offend them but something wasn't right about it. Unfortunately it was disappointing, especially as we chose this place for our only couple night, and we paid a lot for it to be...

As per the suggestion of a local business owner we stopped by Frantzeskos for fresh seafood. We were welcome by the most enthusiastic and friendly staff. The menu had all the Greek basics, with quite a few special dishes which seemed very appetizing. We ordered the crab meat salad, batter fried eggplant and fish roe dip for starters. Every item thus far was simply well made. The quantity of fresh tasting crab meat in the salad was impressive and the freshness of the eggplant made it a great starter. The fish roe dip (fish roe salad as on the menu) was a delicious addition which we ended up dipping almost all of our starters into. We ordered the mixed fish grill platter for the main course and it was just perfect. Seasoning was on point and the fish was as fresh as one could expect at the time of year. Their assortment of fresh fish was very impressive and it was evident that they knew their way around cooking fresh fish. (the place being run by fishermen and all) Don't be intimidated by the price tag on the fresh fish. If you want a great seafood experience, do not worry, it will be worth it. The ambience and decor of the place has the standard of San Torino beach-side taverns but what sets it apart in my opinion is the quality of fresh fish served.

My partner and I had two great meals. This was our first time in a restaurant where you choose the fish from what has been caught today. The staff on both evenings were welcoming and helpful with choosing the fish, for flavour, portions, etc. The restaurant is beachside and always busy. We were advised to go early because they sometimes run out. There were queues outside every night leaving nearby restaurants almost empty. On the first night we chose swordfish and a small barracuda to share with some sides. This meal was excellent so we returned a few days later and chose an (expensive but huge, fresh and delicious - perfectly cooked) red snapper. Our waiter filleted it for us at the table and it was worth the money. Before complaining about the price of the fish, consider that it is fresh, locally caught and healthy. Have a quick check at what you would pay (per kg) in a restaurant at home! My only gripe was smokers puffing away at their tables around us whilst eating. It didn’t ruin our meals (and I’m mindful that smoking in restaurants is common in Europe unlike the UK), but it’s something to bear in mind if you don’t like it.
