The Boomboom-Bar A very cosy nice bar where you can relax, chat and enjoy the sound of the waves inbetween the tracks. Unfortunately only for one second per track. While the music blasts out of the five huge disco speakers you better use earplugs, quickly drink your coffee and go. You have to walk a bit because even at the beach you won't escape the noise. we kindly asked the staff if they could at least lower the volume a bit. The response was "This is not possible", "why?" - "This is not possible". So we didn't order more and left. I really don't get this. People are on holidays to relax. Nowerdays everybody has a smartphone with his/her favourite tracks on it. If I want to listen to music I can choose what and when. What is this forced noise pollution for? Especially at such a nice place near the shore where you could enjoy the relaxing soundtrack of the waves instead of drowning it out with some random youtube beach playlists. Do the owners want the people to leave quickly? Or do some guests order more because they are bored since they can't understand each other and don't want to yell? If someone has an explanation for this, I'm curious! (Please...
Read moreFirst time in Santorini and not a good experience. We ordered two T-bone steaks, two fish and two sets for drinks which came to a staggering âŹ150! Very overpriced. The order came with both coming well done when asked for medium, one tasted just awful and the other wasnât anything special, it was ok. When enquiring to the waitress, we were told the customer isnât always right and apparently we were rude. When the bill came, which was all in Greek ( I feel like that was done on purpose but I canât say for sure) we asked if we were charged for the dodgy steak and of course we were. She refused to deduct that from the bill until we started to get up from the table without paying at all. As this meant no money at all, she then took off the âŹ20 eventually. We have been all over the world on holiday and we had never experienced something like this. The bill was now âŹ130 but we deducted âŹ10 for such a poor attitude. Anyway, the fish was ok and t-bones were just not worth it. On the other hand, other waiters were passive and didnât really say a lot and ok waiting times. I recorded the voices of her arguing with us and I canât upload it unfortunately....
Read moreWe came by one evening hoping to enjoy a nice drink by the sea. Silly usâwe thought being polite and greeting the waiter would be a good start. Instead, we were instantly dismissed because he was far too consumed by the monumental task of printing two receipts and lovingly filling a basket of chips. True artistry in motion. He didnât even let us ask if we could sit. So, seeing thatâplot twist!âtables were actually free and we werenât intruding on royal property, we sat down on our own. And then began the great disappearing act: we spent a delightful 30 minutes being completely, utterly invisible. The waiter, meanwhile, was in his element, magically appearing only at tables with girls. Priorities, I guess? After the final round of being blatantly ignored, we stood up and leftâno drama, no scene. Just deep disappointment in watching someone redefine what âcustomer serviceâ isnât. Some people treat their job like a punishment. If serving drinks feels that emotionally draining, maybe itâs time for a career in⊠potato chip arrangement? That part, at least, seemed to be a...
