Black Beach Greek Traditional taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

This restaurant was horrible I allowed the man to talk me to come in and try that food this was our first time at the black Beach before I went in I asked this man did he have fresh calamari and he insisted that he had fresh calamari. Now I want everyone to look at this calamari this calamari was not fresh it was frozen I got a burger and the fun was bigger than the burger and also my lettuce was cold and Frozen. I told him about the calamari not being fresh and asked him about the sauce. And this dude brought me a side of mayonnaise with the calamari. I just could not believe what I was seeing, I was so floored that I was too mad to laugh and when I wanted to laugh I was too mad. This was just utterly ridiculous. I also had issues with the meatballs, first of all for the price that they were selling them for they were way small and they had a seasoning on them like cinnamon or something and they did not taste right. So instead of him taking it off the table after I told him that he was not eating it he insist on leaving it on the table and on the bill which I was really shocked about, and told me that we can order something else and he'll give it to us for free so that's when I ordered the calamari.. oh I'm sorry the "Fresh Calamari" 🙄and I was totally disappointed when that came to the table. So in conclusion about this restaurant the atmosphere was good because it was right off the beach the service I don't even know what to say about the service. They were some nice gentlemen. I can't take that away from them, but he lied and lied straight to my face about his food. And the food was horrible. Oh and I forgot please don't let me get started on this Greek salad how am I in Greece in this Greek salad look like this it was more peppers than the salad it should have just been called a...

The Service was horrible...we had to walk 4 times from the beach chairs to the host to ask for service....they were forcing us to eat at the table when we were relaxing at the beach and asked for service 3 times at the beach which they responded to " yes yes we will take care of you" ...finally they brought grilled sea food which was very cold and nasty and they provided wooden utensils for uncut grilled octupus....I had to walk again to the restaurant to ask for the metal utensils after which it was cold and nasty and uneatable...and they still charged us full price after we voiced our disatifaction....also the manager lied that they were not suppose to serve or attend the blue chairs vs red chairs but we kept seeing their servers passing out their menus and taking orders in our area....very unprofessional and untruthful ...made our experience unpleasant...

What a lovely place this is! Popped in late on after missing last bus to Perivolos from Fira. Bang on the beach with the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. Alex the waiter was so friendly and welcoming with great knowledge of menu and recommendations. I eat alot of Greek food generally and couldn't fault the food here. The fava, Greek feta with honey and tomato balls are a must. Also, my partner is vegan and this menu had extensive options and vegan menu - food is actually much better than the purely vegan/veggie restaurant further down the strip and at half the price. To top it off Alex managed to get us a very reasonably priced taxi back to Perivolos -which after a full day in Fira and Oia made me a very happy gal! Only been open a couple of seasons, long may...
