Taqueria Las Flautas — Restaurant in Guatemala City

I was really disappointed with this restaurant, it looks great from outside and the inside is beautiful but the food was very bland. The flautas are huge and barely filled with any protein you’re basically paying for a giant corn tortilla. The salsas were mid and had to sazón or heat to them. The veggies were fresh and so were their aguas frescas but that’s really all I can say positive about the food. Tacos were a HUGE let down since they have a small selection of proteins and they’re basically re-heated to order. Check out other locals first, usually the holes in the wall are the more authentic and delicious. Another thing to consider is that they have about 30 people working and it’s a self serve place after you order. They do not wait on you and they do not bring food...

I didn’t like any of the dishes we ordered. Maybe it was a fluke, but we ordered three different things. Note to add - I live in San Antonio, tx so used to very good Mexican restaurants and Tex mex too.

Though the ambiance and service is on point, we ordered Al pastor tacos- missed the pineapples and had grilled onions, the gringas with chicken, they added some pico de gallo and cilantro sauce that made them sloppy and tasted weird, and the carnitas flautas- I thought they were beef but they were pork and had a lot of pork belly fat. Restaurante de comida mexicana. El lugar muy ambientado con mesas y sillas decoradas con personalidades mexicanas. En general local y mesas y sillas con apariencia agradable aunque poco cómodas. Lo que demerita el restaurante es la atención en general de autoservicio, ya que no hay meseros que tomen la orden a tu mesa, te tienes que formar en la caja para hacer tu pedido y después estás parado en lo que te preparan tu comida, cuando te están preparando la comida no tienes opción a que te la preparen a tu gusto, ya que son tantas las ordenes que atienden que si no quieres queso o salsa en tus tacos, hacen caso omiso y te la preparan como ellos quieren. En nuestro caso éramos un grupo muy numeroso de personas, once en total y solicitamos una mesa en la planta baja ya que teníamos algunos niños y nos comentaron que por políticas del restaurante no podían juntar mesas en la planta baja y tuvimos la incomodidad de tener que subí todo nuestro pedido hasta la planta alta y hacer varios viajes para subir la comida de los niños, ya que a pesar de que fue un consumo grande, ningún mesero se acomidió a ayudarnos a subir los alimentos. La atención con los clientes podría mejorar mucho. En resumen está bien si vas en grupos pequeños sin niños, pero no lo aconsejo para grupos grandes con niños o personas mayores. Otro inconveniente es es estacionamiento que es insuficiente para el tamaño del lugar. Los precios de los platillos un poco más caros que restaurantes...
