the food is good, The average (there are better places with better prices and more hygienic) but honestly the customer service is lousy, that's the worst, officially the worst experience in a restaurant/cafe in all of Guatemala. top 5 reasons. 1) We were forced to remove ourselves from the table we were using. at the beginning we were a group of 8 people, and we had arrived 8 first and then some left and others arrived, at the end when the last ones arrive we were finishing eating (4 people) at the same large table that we started with the large group of 8 . My friends and me were forced us to move to another table or rush to finish our food. The reason was that we weren't buying anymore and the group was no longer 8 and just 4 people. We hadn't even finished eating and they were already moving us. At the end I didn't finish my dishes, I paid and went to another place. 2) The second reason is that they never tell you that they charge you an extra 10% at the price agreed on the menu, that's meen you have to add 10% to the price shown on the menu. 3) the bank terminal does not work well, and not all cards pass, my card is Citybank and it does not pass, neither. BBVA (masterCard and Visa) imagine having this same problem with 80% of the guys in the group, obviously something is wrong whit the machine system. luckily we had a plan B and the payment could be made. 4) We are currently in times of pandemic and i never see the tables being disinfected or the body temperature taken at the entrance and the only ones wearing face masks were the waiters, and not the cashier (she seemed to be the owner) or the kitchen staff. It is unhygienic that part of the kitchen is halfway up the corridor to the terrace. 5) The service is to slow and the food...
Read moreThe food is good but the coffee and service was the worst in Antigua. When I asked for a latte with a single shot, it came extremely strong and bitter, with a lot of water and no foam in the milk. The staff told me that this is how a latte is supposed to be (which it is not) and all 3 waitresses came and surrounded me at the same time and together refused to take it back or make me a new one and insisted on bringing me more burned milk to top it up, which I tried but it still tasted terrible. Eventually one came and took the coffee back, but not until I was already annoyed enough to write this review. The food was great, but the interaction really ruined my experience. The day before I had come in the afternoon for cake and tea on the rooftop and there was one other table of people but the place was totally empty. It started pouring heavy rain and I moved inside to a table and the waitress argued with me about my seat, telling me that I was not allowed to sit there because it was a large table and if other people arrived (in torrential rainstorm) I would need to move. There are signs on the larger tables saying you need a minimum of 3 to sit there, but I was just finishing my tea while it rained and it was unnecessary to insist that I move to a single armchair when I’m almost finished and there were many large empty tables to choose from and nobody would be able to enter the cafe until it stopped raining anyway.

Read moreI have eaten here for over a year, and at a minimum twice a week… My addiction for their Açaí bowl has become so severe I now am unable to pay for my return flight to America or my insulin.
How would I describe the environment at Cafe Boheme? To answer this question, ask yourself this… how would you describe the birth of your first child?
There are not words in the English language that can accurately describe how I feel…
The terrace is perpetually and immaculately clean. I once dropped one of my potatoes on the floor and I did not hesitate to pick it back up and eat it. My confidence in the staff and the cleanliness of this establishment cannot be overstated.
How would I describe the service?
Every time I walk into this fine establishment I am consistently greeted by beautiful and kind staff who always say “Buenas días Senior Tommycito”
Once while walking to my table I tripped and just when I thought all was lost… a beautiful waitress, in Maguire-fashion, swooped in and caught me. She saved both my life and my dignity. Everyone on the terrace clapped. I looked up at her with tears in my eyes and graciously thanked her. Ever since that day… that waitress has held a special place in my heart… and my will.
In conclusion… to Cafe Boheme.. to the beautiful staff… to the artisan chefs that craft the most incredible Açaí Bowls in the world… I would like to extend my most sincere praise and appreciation. Thank you...
