LA PASTA NOSTRA — Restaurant in Sacatepéquez

I ordered a glass of Cabernet, a spinach fettuccine pasta with amatriciana sauce and a pana cotta to go. The food was delicious, seriously, my hat off to the chef but the customer service was definitely not up to par. I wasn't greeted, I was told to find a seat. There were two small children running around screaming and no one told them to calm down, granted that is a parent's job ultimately, but in a public space, one of the people in charge could have asked the parent to get his kids under control. I asked if I could be sold a foccaccia bread because I enjoyed it so much, the server said no and didn't offer even a small slice to help satisfy my craving. No one came up to check on me as I ate or after I was finished. I had to flag down a worker to ask about their desserts. To top it off the suggested tip wasn't really suggested at all, they brought back my change minus the "suggested" tip automatically. I would return, but...

I really enjoyed this restaurant. We went there twice (once for dinner) and then back the next day for lunch.

First, about the food. The pasta is really fresh. The first night I had pesto with Fettuccine. I loved the fettuccine and thought the pesto was pretty good. I love pesto with a lot of garlic, this one was a little more muted, but the pasta was gorgeous. My daughter had the Caesar salad and loved it. We've been here a month, and her stomach is pretty sensitive, and this was salad was similar to what she'd get at a comparable restaurant in the US. She was in heaven!

For lunch the next day, I got ravioli with cream sauce (really really good) the pasta was so fresh and the sauce was creamy and gorgeous.

I can't speak to the comments about the tomato sauce because we didn't have it, but the cream sauce was gorgeous.

We went for pizza and ordered one that ended up being a “cold pizza” but isn’t listed as such. It’s the salmon one, so this is your warning. What was even more confusing is that the crust was hot, half cooking the ice cold smoked salmon. Nothing good about it and wait staff should probably double check with people to make sure they understand that it’s cold. The waitress told us she hasn’t read the menu. Okkk.

On top of that, not a very clean or hygienic place. I’m sure many think it’s cute to have a cat sitting/sleeping on a chair at a table but not everyone finds it cute and some of us are allergic. Three women were seated at that table and had to get an extra chair as the staff didn’t move the cat.

On the way out, saw a roach crawling on the floor.
