Have say this is one of the best places I have found around the lake. I don´t post much but the most recent negative views are confusing. I was only in San Marco for a few days but this immediately became and stayed a favorite haunt. If you are used to San Pedros prices maybe this is slightly more expensive but I have stayed for hours after finishing my 5 dollar complete breakfast with juice and coffee included and have spent time with a friend who didn´t order anything. Also better prices for most things compared to the other similar establishments in San Marco. Standard black coffee as well as the expAnsive menu are great and it is one of the few places around the lake where you can get homemade chai and other nice teas. Also there is an amazing homemade multigrain bread. The staff are congenial and very attentive and the environment is tranquil and inviting simpatico with the general San Marco vibe. Don’t miss this if you are in San Marcos for a day.
Some context: I was here during the off season. The off season is so dead that I am quite sure that the majority of the business that elect to remain open during the off season (serving visitors and continuing to employ locals) do so at a loss supported by the comparative business during the busy season. In which case considerate customers would realize if other customers are being turned away during their stay and be reasonable out the length of their stay so they don´t hurt...
Read moreI am not someone who usually writes bad reviews, but since they are running a scam, others should know.
Kept walking past and seeing what sounded like a good dish (tuna and blue cheese). Asked for the price, was told 65q. Blue cheese wasn’t available 2 days in a row, but they said they can use normal cheese.
I then received this bland cream pasta with mushrooms and no tuna. When I said ‘this is incorrect, I ordered the tuna’. They then bought tuna separately.
You can imagine my surprise when I was charged for basically 2 meals. A ‘65q’ pasta was on the bill for 105q! He then tried to tell me they are seperate meals. Please look at this sign and tell me whether they look like separate meals. He wouldn’t reason. Didn’t apologise. And wouldn’t adjust the ridiculous price.
Obviously a massive scam. I asked for the ‘tuna and blue cheese pasta’ 3 days in a row and no one corrected me. On top of that, an 8% fee to pay by card.
Avoid. There are plenty of good and honest businesses in San Marcos. Zen Eats, El Búho, and Casa Juanita are just 3 examples which were way better (and...
Read moreIt is very difficult to find good Italian food while on holiday and you won’t find it here. After reading some positive but negative reviews about this place we decided to give it a try since we were in the mood for some Italian food. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The food was not good at all, their ‘homemade’ did not taste homemade at all, you only tasted artificial cheese. It was prepared in a microwave. The pizza was a disaster as well. It seemed like it was just a frozen pre-made pizza which was heated in an oven. It tasted very bland and it was almost too hard to cut. The salad that accompanied the pizza was also below average. If you want to pay by card you need to fill in a digital form with your personal information and they even have you take a selfie for security. It all felt a bit weird. Although the spot is nice, with seating in a garden and friendly staff, we can not recommend this place...
