Ok I left my original review below when I had given 5 stars but I brought it down to because I'm pretty sure an employee tried to steal from me. The guys that work there are great but last time I ate here, I ordered something that was 45 q and I paid with a 100q. The lady who took my order only handed me 5 q back. When I told her I gave her a 100 she looked at me like I caught her red handed and immediately handed me the proper amount of change without even having to check how much she actually owed me which means she knew she was shorting me. If she new how much change to give me she would have given me the proper amount immediately. And let's say she maybe had thought I had given her 50 q, then I feel like she would have tried to tell me I paid her that amount in order to avoid shorting the restaurant. But how quickly she believes me when I said I paid with a 100 and how guilty she looked makes me think she was trying to get one over on me. This is the second time I've had people try to rip me off around the lake like this. And both at my two favorite places. At Para Vida in San Pedro they pulled a similar stunt. So when your on the lake, pay attention to every detail of your interactions with businesses.
The reason I still kept it at 4 stars is because I don't think that one employee represents the restaurant and every experience I've had besides that one has been great
In my opinion this is the Best most affordable healthy food in San Marcos which is saying a lot since there is so much great healthy food here. Also the people working out chill and the vibe is super relaxed. I pretty much became a regular...
Read moreThe a la carte menu here is mediocre at best… not sure how there are so many positive reviews for the food. We got the rice crepe and the Lao tzu. The rice crepe was flavourless, completely unsalted, and covered in peanuts. Too many peanuts to eat in one sitting. The filling is basically unflavoured veggies and fried tofu. The Lao tzu, and even the rice it comes with, is doused with this super sweet sauce that tastes like it’s chock full of sugar. It says “sweet and sour” but it’s not sour at all. The sauce is black and I have a hard time believing it is healthy for you. Tastes like basic hoisin. The dish is just rice and sauteed veggies with your choice of plant protein, topped with peanuts and sesame seeds. It says it’s yellow curry but it only has a slight hint of yellow curry flavour. The portions are also quite small for the price. Not impressed at all and won’t be coming back for another sit down meal.
Their pre-prepared foods in the fridge at the entrance, however, are quite good. We tried the kimchi, hummus, and GF bread and all were tasty, though...
Read moreThe food was quite good, but the service was absolutely awful. We asked for a smoothie without one ingredient (health allergy). The woman working the front brought out the smoothie and remarked that it was accidentally prepared with the ingredient we asked to be removed. We politely rejected the smoothie, noting that my partner couldn’t drink it due to her health. The server completely refused to speak to us the rest of our meal, although she had hearty conversations with another couple (who also asked for a modification to their order). The server clearly had an attitude, bringing over food without speaking and not responding when we would say thank you or that the food was good. Maybe it had something to do that we also happened to be Black, but who knows. Would never go there again and subject my partner and I to that kind...
