Having heard and read about this place we were looking forward to our visit, we were very disappointed and won’t be back. Ok, we arrived 10 minutes after food had stopped being served, so it’s fair we couldn’t have any. However the ride way we were told didn’t leave us feeling good. Normally with such a response we would immediately leave, but it was raining and the building is nice. We decided to stop for a drink. That’s when our lovely barman/waiter gave us the second statement of charm. No, we couldn’t sit at any of the tables as he had just set them for this evening (it was now just after 2). So, lovely bar and rubbish experience. Will not return.

Dined here few times and trying the Biryani festival for the first time is the bomb! As a biryani lover, I have explored almost all the biryani available in the island but this one is so legit it made me write a review! 😉 The biryani is literally from scratch and all the spices and ingredients I expect are all there! The lamb shank almost melt in my mouth it was so tender and juicy inside. It was cooked to perfection and passion! The best ever! I had lamb shank biryani and my partner had prawn biryani and both are perfect! On top of that is the 5 star service from the staff as always! I just wish they would put biryani on their regular menu.

It's probably the cheapest place in town. £22 for a 3-course meal. I just found the portions a little small for the price, especially considering tax isn't included! The food was good, and so was the service. It wasn't very busy that day, so it was nice to enjoy the good music, which is usually too loud in this kind of place, but not at all that day. Thank you for this moment.

Attentive service, good value set menu, small portions which you expect for a set menu, however small portions also for the a la carte mains. Accompaniments to the main was more like a garnish but the food was tasty. The atmosphere was nice until we asked the waitress a minor question about the food. The cheesecake, which came in a small coffee cup and saucer and had squirty tinned cream on top, (which we thought was a coffee so we asked where the cheesecake was). The chef then came out, unrequested, and was very aggressive and confrontational. We explained we didn't realise it was cheesecake as it didn't look like a pieces of cheesecake, and tried to explain and also make light of it but the chef would not accept this or engage in light conversation or even smile back. He just remained hostile and challenged us, before walking off and loudly telling the waitress to charge us double. It was very weird. It's not good practice to make your customers feel uncomfortable and try to embarrass them and make them feel intimidated for asking a question. This ruined the vibe of the otherwise nice evening so won't...

Surrounded by restaurants that mainly serve food of a French influence this gastro pub is a breath of fresh air for those from the UK looking for some traditional English favourites.

Cosy and quirky this restaurant provides a variety of seating arrangements perfect for any occasion. Whether you're there for a meal and drinks with friends or celebrating a special day with family.

While it's no fine dining the food is good quality, decent portions and great value for money. The staff here are very friendly too, they were especially helpful when I had accidentally left some of my personal belongings there one evening.

In summary, if you're looking for a relaxing environment, wholesome food and friendly service for a reasonable price, The Pickled Pig is the...

Ordered the 'Cajun Brined Chicken Breast'. Nowhere in the menu description did it say it was served as a burger, so perhaps the menu could be a bit clearer. I ended up leaving the bun as too much stodge. The chicken tasted nice but had an unusual slightly chewy texture, I think brining should add moisture and tenderness, but this wasn't quite the case unfortunately. The Cajun fries were nice enough, and it was served with a tiny morsel of corn on the cob, and there was no sign of the sriracha mayo mentioned on the menu, or maybe it was hiding on the bun which I didn't eat. It was an ok, edible dish, but wouldn't choose to order this dish again. My friend had belly pork with Guernsey cream mash which he said was good....
