Two of us popped into Taj on a Sunday night and were warmly welcomed. The booth setup meant we had lots of space and attentive service.
We had a paneer tikka and lamb samosas to start with a delicious tamarind sauce on the side - highly recommend dipping your poppadoms in it!
For mains we had a lamb passanda and chicken zalmirchi (which was hot, but not so hot that you were left with tears running down your face). We both had a gorgeous naan bread and rice.
All the food was hot (temperature), fresh and full of flavour. Highly recommend this place!

Mostly booths or separate tables. The food was really good, I had the lamb shank and my wife had lamb korai - both were really cooked well. I tend to part judge Indian restaurants by how long they cook the lamb and therefore how tender it is - full marks to The Taj. And if that wasn’t enough, service was excellent - we had a particularly sassy young waitress serve us, she was teasing and joking along through the service....

For two curries, a side and small 3 drinks the meal came to around £50.00 (the coke was provided in a tiny glass which was not worth the price at all). The waiter then also "reminded" us the price doesn't include service even though he hardly provided us with any, I've received friendlier service at mcdonalds and they don't expect a tip, I found that very rude.
