So you’re hungry right? You’ve done some morning dives, haven’t eaten since 7:00am? Then you walk into this place and see the menu. Compared to many places on the island, it looks polished. Menu looks promising. So you sit down to order. First, you’re greeted relatively quickly. This is promising. Then you order your drinks. Those take 15-20 minutes to come out, no matter how straight forward they are. They could just be all beers. No matter. Still a 15-20 minute wait. Then, you order your food, thinking maybe it’s just the bar. It is not. So far, my small group has been sitting for over an hour and still has been served no food at all. Who knows when this will end. And now, at about 1:45 (we arrived at 12:20), an overwhelmingly loud musician started. He’s good but his speakers are up loud enough for a stadium. It’s 2:15 and still no food.
After telling our server just now we were leaving, he rushed to the kitchen and started bringing the food out, piece by piece. The first promised food after the confrontation hit the table two and a half minutes later. The rest of the food trickled out over a fifteen minute period. All told, the last person didn’t receive their food until an hour and a half after the initial order. And then, if the food was fresh off the grill, it didn’t have any resemblance to that. Every dish was cold. Every dish. The burgers were underdone. It basically felt like the food sat in the window for thirty minutes or more.
To top it all off, they overcharge you for the food and drinks, not reflecting the actual exchange rate. Drinks that were advertised as $9 were charged (after accounting for the exchange rate) at $10.30. The food was about 0.20 higher; so that was better. And to top it off, they forced the gratuity on us.
Only come if you have three hours for food, don’t mind it cold, and don’t mind getting...
Read moreWanted to try their pizza because we saw their sign that said “Best Pizza in Roatan.” The pizza was not great at all. It tasted like one of those frozen Tostino pizzas you can buy for $5. Another member in our party ordered the Rib-eye steak and it was very delicious. We decided to have dinner here the next night and ordered something different. We ordered this boat they have which feeds 4 to 6 people. It included lobster, calamari, steak, fish, fries, chicken wings, and tejadas. The food was delicious, but of course they filled it mostly with fries. Great service here is just like any other restaurant; it depends on your server. First night, our server was great, but second night, the server came to the table twice. When you order drinks, they bring you cans which cost $3 each. Overall, I would go here again because of the atmosphere and food not including Pizza. They should really take that sign down because it is false...
Read moreThis place looked really cute on the beach. We stopped for dinner and to get out of the rain. The service was the worst I’ve had so far and the food took a long time to come out. They weren’t packed. It was our first real dinner on the island. We just thought they were on island time until we went to different restaurants. The alcohol drinks came out in paper cups. We noticed if you sat at the bar you got a real glass. Our food came out barely warm. The lobster, shrimp tacos, grilled octopus, and seabass were good. The fried fish was just okay. So far their beans and rice have been my favorite on the island. It’s very flavorful. They did forget to make the octopus as an appetizer so it came out after we revived our plates. Our server only checked on us once and then after clearing and wiping our table off after eating it took us a while to flag him down to...
