Amazing Roatan Tours — Local services in Roatán

This was out first time visit to Roatan via cruise line. We were looking for a trustworthy local tour operators to avoid hefty excursion fee's charged by cruise lines. Contacted Amazing Roatan Tours just a few days before the trip and the response was immediate. Orrin did a great job understanding what we were looking for and customized the itinerary for us giving pro's and cons of ship excursions. He was willing to accommodate our special requests and followed up as needed. He gave us a great deal for 22 people group. He took calls late at night to answer any questions, sent pictures of the bus, boat etc which gave us confidence given the first time we were going with him. Gave us a summary of itinerary, upfront costs etc so there is no room for error/misunderstanding. Upon arrival, he sent a picture of the tour guide receiving us and location where he was standing which helped to locate immediately.

Throughout the trip, tour guide Owen was very friendly and showed us all the spots we asked for and accommodated any last minute detours. He and the driver were very professional and courteous. Got us back to the cruise on time for departure.

Alexis is so kind and patient. He isn’t pushy when it comes to sales. He explained everything, got us our tour we wanted, and set us all up at the time we were ready to go. We went on a 3 stop snorkeling tour with Andy and Alex, but were great and ensured we seen so many things! Andy pointed out a large sting ray and since I missed it, he drove the boat around until he found it to show it to me. We saw 2 turtles and many beautiful fish and coral. They had all the gear you’d need to go snorkeling, just being a towel or dry off in the beautiful sun. Andy and Alex were so patient, they didn’t rush us to get through the snorkeling tour to get to the next stop, they allowed us to stay as long as we wanted and didn’t feel rushed at all. Go check out the blue channel and if you want a down to earth sales guy that won’t pressure you, talk with Alexis for all your tours right at the beach by the Bananarama! Pros: The guy who showed us all of our options was very nice and not pushy at all. We did spring and spend double the amount for a private tour with 3 snorkel stops + mangrove tour. We were handed over to a captain and our guide, Justin, who snorkeled with us. Justin was a wonderful guide and impressive swimmer! The locations were great too! We saw a lot of cool fish :) They were kind enough to drop us off at West End at our hotel instead of back at West Bay which made our day a lot easier! Great guys!!

Cons: The mangrove tour was not at all like the pics on the companies Google pics or instagram. They parked the boat in a little mangrove inlet but you do not drive through the mangroves as advertised. Another thing that turned us off was that our guide offered us a conch shell that he found at the bottom of the ocean. It was a sweet gesture, but the company needs to educate employees about ocean...
