La Palapa Beach Bar — Restaurant in Roatán

Very disappointed with our experience at this location. The first time there were 6 in our party. Five were served their meal and all five had finished their meal and the 6th still did not get their meal after reminding the waiter several times. Gave it another try last night and it was almost a complete repeat of the first visit except another in our party ordered a salad with their meal & never got the salad. They are extremely short of staff and last night the place was not busy so the service should have been improved. This was not the fault of the wait staff, the hotel needs to hire more staff. I would suggest eating at any of the other dining establishments on West Bay, we did not have this issue...

The ambiance, the lighting, and the staff were all pretty terrific. Now if we could just get the food aligned. The coconut rice and beans were good, and the french fries were cooked perfectly. But my bang bang shrimp was all wrong-- just got fried shrimp with some squirts of sauce on them. That was rather disappointing because the waiter said it was an excellent dish. I definitely would have passed on it if I knew what it was. But seeing the sunset while eating dinner really helped make it easier to forget that the food wasn't quite what I had hoped...

We stayed at Infinity Bay resort for our honeymoon and it was simply magical. Nacho hands down was the best waiter we have ever meet! He’s really personable gets to know you and learns the drinks and food you like! He really goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable—man, by the end of our trip we were reminiscing over our trip high lights and Nacho was not only great at doing his job, but made us feel like we were family.
