Unfortunately my experience wasn't all positive, but it wasn't that bad either i just think there are things that could be better and that the owner should work on... the food went cold in a blink of an eye and that make me doubt if it was all prepared in the moment or just old food that was recycled (and it also taste like it, especially the chicken medallion that i ordered) or maybe it was just the wooden plate that didn't contain the warmth at all, the porcelain one are better in my opinion. The fries were ok, but the sausage taste like soap but it could be that its made this way here in Hungary and it wasn't just my cup of tea, so i'll give the benefit of the doubt on that... the restaurant was very nice and particular and it felt warm and the owner was very nice and welcoming, also once he noticed i was little cold he closed the door, so also very noticing of the needs of his customers. Another sour thing was the payment cause he only take cash and not credit card or else and the change wasn't fair cause was all on his favour (we pay 5 euros more than we should) maybe theres a reason for it or i don't know, but a little honesty could be much appreciated, but other than that as i said, wasn't all bad, just some things that put me...

My girlfriend and I walked into this restaurant looking for a meal, but we were extremely disappointed and disgusted by the way we were treated. From the very beginning, the menu was a nightmare for anyone with specific dietary needs, like me, as I’m vegan and have multiple allergies and intolerances. The menu, entirely meat-based, offered very few options for me, but I didn’t expect it to be so difficult to order some simple side dishes.

Moreover, buried in the 10-page menu, we found a small note indicating a 12% charge, which we thought was quite high. We asked the waiter for clarification, and from his attitude, it was clear that our question wasn’t welcomed. When my girlfriend ordered a typical dish, I went for a few simple sides. To our shock, we were practically refused what we wanted to order, and the staff even got angry!

In the end, we were thrown out of the restaurant, with absurd accusations that we had complained about the charge and because, incredibly, they didn’t want to serve me a cucumber-based side dish. We’ve never been treated so rudely and disrespectfully in any restaurant before.

In summary: terrible service, no regard for customers' needs, and an unpleasant attitude. An experience I wouldn’t...

The staff is very impolite and not at your service at all, the huffs and puffs we endured during our stay were more suitable for a cranky teenager, not a full grown man in this line of business. My beef medalions with side fries came raw and bloody inside. Should I mention that the portion was more the other way around - fries with side medalions? Unseasoned chopped vegetables (which was supposed to be "salad") came with this as well. The English menu does not indicate the existence of service fee, which is not much, but it shouldn't even be included - not for this kind of service. And finally, you can't pay with your card, so if you're planning to eat bland, uncooked food here, be sure to have forints with you because the exchange rate they use for euros will increase your bill for about 15%. I have never felt so agitated in a restaurant in my life, because I've never experienced the feeling when you're sitting in an almost empty place and the staff behaves as if they don't want you...

First of all, others seem really upset they didn’t see the CASH ONLY sign on the register. Please do not blame the waitstaff for this. Maybe a larger sign right in the middle of the door would help…. Second, the beef stew with dumplings did hit the spot on a cold, rainy day, but it did need a bit more seasoning and the meat had a lot of fat on it. I happened upon this place on a search for a restaurant that did not require reservations or have a 30-45 minute wait at 2:30 in the afternoon. The area does have a lot of good choices, but they don’t really offer a quick lunch for hungry people just arriving in town. This place is cute and has a very homey vibe. The waiter was very nice, and let me take my time and finish my meal before I ran across to the ATM. He pointed out the one where I wouldn’t pay a fee and would get a better exchange rate.

The aesthetic of the place is very nice and cozy. I really wanted to love it but it was just okay. They do not accept card, only cash . Which is on a sign off to the left near the server station and not readily visible on the front door or on the menu. So beware . If you do not see it or ask, they will not tell you. My food was good but I needed to ask for salt as it was a tad tasteless. The workers were pleasant. Please also beware that the prices are very expensive as compared to other places. There were multiple taxes listed and there is a 12% service fee. Even water was 850 ft which is like $2.40 . Very expensive compared to other places. I was a bit disappointed that I had spent so much on the meal but trying to find a place around 12pm to eat in the city on a Sunday is difficult

The first place in Budapest with such unpleasant service. The quality of food was mixed. We had Marinated steak with remulade sause and fries and Beef medallions Hungarian Vadas style. Also ordered a Barakk fresh salad and a portion of Mixed pickles, cucumber. The Marinated steak was tasty and well prepared. It was by far the most expensive piece in the menu. However, the Remulade sause is just a cup of mayo which has nothing to do with real remulade. The rest of dishes ranged from OK to just bareable. The amount of instructions/orders/remarks received from waitress during 45 min lunch was horrible in content, tone and attitude. Give 2 stars for the quality of one dish. Otherwise would give -1 (minus one) star. Value for money - very low. Not recommend.
