Pros: As for the location & pricewise - the place is alright. While the staff isn't particularly friendly or outgoing, they are okay. And the stay has a bar, it is close to free walking tours, shops, restaurants, in the middle of the Jewish Quarter, clubs. The rooms are clean and well-kept, making it a comfortable stay. Beds are comfy and have outlet + USB plugs. Cons : However the vibe is a bit sterile. Beds have no privacy at all, hangers are rare animals there. Lockers are bit small. See the picture. Every room have thick and nice curtains on the windows but null shading on the main door with full of glass. Makes no sense midnight when folks are turning off on off on off on the lights on the corridor. Showers have big problems with the spilled water and lack of hangers too. They have no kitchenette, kettle, microwave, table or place for the dinner. Briefly : You can find better places downtown, although Equity Point is a fair, decent place to stay.

false advertising, scams, lies. risks of respiratory diseases because it is an old building full of insects, humidity, dust and bad smells. A lot of equipment that does not work, uncomfortable beds. !!! Danger : risk of falling from the floors because there is a very short old barrier on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors . There is no access for the handicaps. Very poor management at this hostel. There are no curtains on the beds for the privacy and intimate of the customers, it is horrible. There is no toilet paper or soap, I do not recommend this hostel. indeed, false advertising, scams, lies: they indicate on the application that breakfast is free, but when I wanted to book the receptionist told me that breakfast is never free I had sent them a message about it but they did not answer me

Equity Point Budapest hostel offers a great stay in a central location, with plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious, clean, and had comfy enough beds. There were some small issues—like no toilet paper being restocked regularly and the room being very cold from the air conditioning—but the latter was fixed promptly when I asked. The café bar on the ground floor is a nice bonus. And I believe they have only mixed dorms. Overall, a solid choice for a city stay with great service and location.

I can't stress enough how deeply disappointed and frustrated our group was with our recent stay at this hostel. We had booked for over 60 people and paid a substantial amount, totaling more than 12,000 EUR. However, the treatment we received was nothing short of appalling, leaving us feeling disrespected and utterly let down.

Right from the moment we stepped through the doors, it was clear that communication was going to be a challenge. The staff appeared disorganized and confused, leading to endless difficulties during check-in and check-out. We were constantly repeating ourselves, trying to explain our group's circumstances, and it was incredibly frustrating. We felt like our needs were falling on deaf ears.

The issues extended beyond communication problems. The food situation at the hostel was consistently abysmal. There was never enough to go around, and when we mustered the courage to confront the staff about it, their response was nothing short of apathetic. We were told, almost dismissively, that what they had served was all they had available. It was a clear indication that they simply did not care about providing a positive experience for their guests. We felt devalued and disregarded, like an inconvenience rather than paying customers.

To make matters worse, we discovered that one of the staff members had intentionally prepared food for only 31 people instead of the agreed-upon 37 for one of our groups. This revelation was like a punch to the gut—knowing that they deliberately skimped on our meals was beyond unacceptable. When we approached management, seeking a refund for the missing meals, their lack of concern and indifference were painfully evident. It was as if they couldn't be bothered to rectify their mistake or make amends for their dishonesty.

Our entire experience at this hostel left us feeling frustrated, angry, and deeply let down. We had entrusted them with our group's well-being and had paid a significant amount of money, expecting at the very least a basic level of respect and courtesy in return. Regrettably, this was far from the reality we encountered.

Considering everything we went through, I feel compelled to warn potential guests about the unprofessionalism, disrespectful treatment, and failure to provide the services we paid for. The constant confusion, lack of empathy, and disregard for our concerns cast a shadow over our entire stay. I implore you to explore alternative options that prioritize customer satisfaction and genuinely care about creating a welcoming environment for their guests.

Save yourself the emotional distress and frustration by avoiding this hostel altogether. There are plenty of other accommodations available where your needs and satisfaction will be valued. Spare yourself the disappointment and seek out a place that will make your stay...

At the hostel, I lost one of my belongings. I contacted them an hour after checking out, described where the item might be, and asked them to look for it. However, the communication has been very slow, and I have the feeling they didn’t even try to search for it. There was only one other person in my shared room (a man), and I’m certain he wouldn’t have taken a woman’s item. There’s no chance I lost it elsewhere, so their lack of effort feels quite disappointing. Also, I wasn’t aware that a deposit was required upon check-in. Unfortunately, I didn’t have that amount with me and asked if there was any alternative. I checked in at 00:30 and had to check out at 06:30. I offered to leave my passport or something similar as a guarantee, but they just told me, “Find the money or we won’t check you in.” The lack of flexibility and understanding was very upsetting. I didn’t like the area either — there were a lot of bars around. The metal doors to the rooms were also extremely loud — everything would shake when they closed, making it hard to sleep. There was no toilet paper in the shared bathroom. Also, don’t expect something like kitchen — there’s no fridge or kettle...

Staff is very nice but other than that I can't say much for the accommodation. If you're at the age where you don't care about anything except partying and falling into a bed sure, have at it. Great place for it. But other than that the deluxe double room is just a dirty hole in the wall. I could sue this place for crimes against humanity with the use of time limited faucets. Really. You gotta press them every few seconds to start again just to wash your hands or face. Now imagine doing that for a shower. Because that's what you gotta do. The place is crammed and bare minimum. Just ugly survival mode for the prices of a 4 star hotel(90eu with discount). They also take 50eu guarantee from you and then thankfully give it back. But still, that system is abusibe and is put in place to blackmail people in case you post a review before you get the money. I bet this place is owned and run by the same person that owns 'the magazine hotel' a street away. They do anything to save money I swear. Don't cheap out on 20eu and do yourself a favour, just go to somewhere outside the 7th quarter of you're above 30 and a...
