This one deserves a longer review because I rarely got bamboozled like this.
Disappointing Experience at the So-Called 4-Star Hotel"
I recently stayed at what was purportedly a 4-star hotel, but my experience left much to be desired. Let me break down my stay:
Breakfast: A Culinary Catastrophe I expect a proper coffee machine at a 4*-hotel. Not a powder coffee and chocolate dispenser that you can in a 24h-shift factory for tinned food like in the american movies. The selection of sweet and savory dishes is bigger at a yard sale for kids who have to collect money for their field trip, than what was offered in this hotel.
The Invisible Breakfast Room Staff I half-expected to see tumbleweeds rolling through the breakfast room. The staff? MIA. I wondered if they were playing an elaborate game of hide-and-seek. When I finally spotted someone, they looked as surprised to see me as I was to see them. Their enthusiasm for service was on par with a sloth on a Monday morning. Also the annoyed look on their face made you feel like apologizing for daring to exist in the same room as they did.
Front Desk: The Silver Lining Kudos to the front desk staff! They were the shining stars in this otherwise dim constellation. Friendly, helpful, and genuinely interested in making my stay better. If only the rest of the hotel could take notes from them.
Smart Hotel Hype? The hotel boasted about being a "smart" establishment. Well, the only smart thing about it was the app on my phone that acted as a room key.
Sewage scent The pièce de résistance! The bathroom emitted a nauseating smell of sewage. I reported it to the front desk, which told me they would do something about it. But nothing happened.
And here’s the kicker: When we complained even the staff admitted that this place didn’t deserve its 4-star status. The look we got when checking out early to change to a real 4-star hotel said it all and it was kinda reassuring, that we were doing the only right thing.
In summary, this hotel’s 4-star claim is as believable as a unicorn sighting. If you’re looking for a true 4-star experience, keep walking. As for me personally, I’ll be avoiding this place like the plague. There are plenty of real 4-star hotels, which are even cheaper and located better in the center.
If anyone knows how to organize the redistribution of hotel stars, don't be afraid to register this hotel there to lower it to its 2 to...
Read moreThis is a great and comfy room.
The room is very modern and sleek with self-check in and out technology but I wish there could be some privacy on the glass door in the bathroom as there was totally clear glass which the other person can see you directly from the bedroom. Also I happen to bump into the glass all the time and this could be a potential danger.
The entire room is almost operated by technology, like the curtain ceiling, it can easily be closed using the control panel and the room temperature can be controlled via the apps on your phone.
Receptionist is very nice and friendly, it’s not 24hrs, they are only there on certain time, make sure to do the check in before you arrive to avoid problem.
Entering the room is easy peasy as opening up the apps, and click open door and hold it against the key reader, make sure to have your wifi, mobile internet and Bluetooth on in order for it to work.
The hotel also serves break at the cost of €11 per person. This is located on the ground floor through the elevator, just wish it was on the top floor, it would be nicer.
Everything was absolutely working and we didn’t have any problem staying at this hotel.
The housekeeping is very friendly, as we asked for the room to be clean and she did it right after we left the room, even though she didn’t speak English.
I would consider is very nice hotel, to stay in Budapest as it closes to all the iconic landmarks within walking distance to the bar, cafe and restaurants.
It’s a good value for money but I found it a little too expensive for almost no service Hotel type.
Overal we really happy and enjoyed our stay. It is safe and secure, and we highly recommended it.
I hope to come back again next time, as we love the privacy, bad is that there is no balcony nor window that can be opened, so it can felt a bit phobia if you are that...
Read moreBefore arriving to the hotel we tried to reach the hotel, it was impossible. A hotel that has no reception can’t be called a hotel, in my opinion. There is just one person in the “bar”, but he is (I quote) “just working in the bar” and not responsible for any issues regarding the hotel.
We had problems with the app which you need to check in and we called the number that we got in the booking confirmation about 10 times (during two days), no one answered. We had to make two different bookings for two nights and the man at the bar told us it’s impossible to have the same room for both nights, because we didn’t check-in on time (but it didn’t work and we couldn’t reach anybody beforehand!) so we had to check out after one night, leave the room and wait for the next check in (because it’s not possible to check in for two different bookings on one app).
We got no information concerning where to park or where to go (like a city map with some suggestion from the receptionist, as in other hotels).
One thing is being “technological” and another thing is not having a reception and leaving your guests at their own fate without providing any service.
We also had some issues with the checking out time, tried to call the manager again - but - guess what? - no one answered again!
“Smart” apparently means “less service” (to cut costs). I’m not a fan and can’t...
