I would say we had a solid experience at this café. The location is excellent, as it’s situated right across from the Central Market Hall. The outdoor seating was also decent, especially considering it was raining and we had sunshades. It had a good vibe, and it was nice to take in the beautiful buildings and surroundings of Budapest especially Váci Street, the Széchenyi Bridge, and the already mentioned Central Market Hall. The waitress was relatively friendly, though she seemed a bit, if not noticeably, rude you could tell by her behavior. The coffee was okay, also kind of average. It was a bit tasteless and not particularly well made, though it’s hard to explain exactly what was off about it. Do I recommend this place? Honestly, I’m not sure. The location is great, the coffee is so-so, and the prices are relatively high considering what you get. You’ll have to decide for yourself whether it’s worth visiting. So if you’re just looking for a spot to sit and enjoy the view, go for it. But if you’re more focused on quality coffee or drinks, you might want to try...
Read moreRude aggressive female waitress 👎 . Spent the past 4 days having lovely experiences in Budapest so was utterly shocked to be treated with such contempt on the morning we return home to England. Upon entering Anna cafe on Friday 17/2/23 approx 11 am I was literally shoved by whom I first thought was a customer but it was a waitress in her early 20s with blond hair. Typically I said “sorry” as I thought I’d jumped the service queue. The waitress sternly told me to “sit down it’s table service” and walked off. We tried unpacking our rucksacks 🎒 and I asked her if we could sit at the table she had cleaned and was told sternly in a dismissive way “no! You have to sit at this table now !”. So we walked … so relieved this awful experience didn’t happen on arriving in Budapest on Tuesday. Went over the road to the market hall and ate a fabulous Hungarian tasting menu. Don’t go to Anna cafe if you look anything like a tourist ! I can’t speak for the other staff members but this one person is a liability for the...
Read moreWe were in Budapest for 3 nights and we came to Anna Cafe every morning for breakfast. I would definitely recommend. The menu choices were very good, lots to choose from. Breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, salads, amazing sharing platters. The drinks selection was also very good. I had the Hungarian breakfast which was very filling and delicious and kept me going all day. The flavoured homemade lemonades were really nice too. There was 4 us on our trip. The second morning we went the waiter recognised us and remembered our drinks order and gave us a warm welcome. The staff are very friendly. The location is very good, perfect for sitting and watching the world go by. Although we didn't eat outside as there didn't seem to be an no smoking area (or people where smoking even if their table had a no smoking sign). There is lots of out door seating so it would be easy enough to have a section for non smokers. I would definitely visit again if I am ever back...
