Very authentic, well prepared and affordable Chinese food in the center of Budapest, next to the famous Vasarcsarnok (main market hall). Unlike most the authentic Chinese restaurants found further out from the center in Budapest's Chinatown, which feature large menus with a broad range of dishes, Biang Bisztro features the kinds of street foods Asian diners tend to crave later in the evenings, primarily noodle dishes, dumplings and rice plates, along with an assortment of snacks and appetizers to make a fun meal for a group of friends. The noodles are hand-pulled and very delicious. The BiangBiang special noodle dish features what appears to be a single, thick noodle about 10-cm wide and maybe half a meter long (or it just feels that way) that will give your chopstick hand a workout. The dried tofu with cucumber appetizer is also worth trying, as is the duck gaijioafan (Gaijiao Rice section of the menu). Don't miss the fried boazi, thick-skinned dumplings that are first boiled or steamed and then pan fried and crisp on the bottom. The Biang bun is kind of like a duck taco. The interior is kind of industrial chic, and the clientele is a good mixture of eastern and western cultures. Servers speak Hungarian, English and Chinese. There is also another Biang...
Read moreHoly cow, absolutely did not expect this to be here in Budapest. Staying here in Budapest for 3 days and figured to go out for a walk on the first day to see what’s good. Wanted to try some good ole Austrian food. Literally only came here as i was heading to restaurant for some beef goulash and then decided to change my mind to try this place. Was not sure how authentic this place could be but turns out I was so wrong. This place was fantastic, speaking from a Chinese background this place felt like eating back at home! Heck, one of the Caucasian girls (or i thought she was) was speaking such fluent mandarin i was blown away from that already. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some Chinese cuisines, had their Biang biang noodles and Zhajiang noodles (the meat paste was slightly too salty for my liking, however this style might be more towards Beijing style). Suggest that you go with the biang biang noodles as it was just amazing.
Would definitely go again, such a gem to have this restaurant here. I’m certain that most individuals regardless of background would enjoy this restaurant, for those that are of Asian decent you will just enjoy it that much more to have a bit of taste of home while you are out and about...

Unfortunately, we didn’t get as far as eating, or even ordering. It was suspicious that when we arrived, the three waitresses downstairs didn’t respond to our greeting, so we went upstairs on our own. Several tables were occupied by foreigners, who didn’t seem happy... We sat down as well, and after about 5 minutes, I found where they keep the menus and brought one over to look through. After we decided what we wanted, we flipped through the menu twice and then played with our phones, realizing that nothing was going to happen here. In about 15 minutes, NO ONE came upstairs, no food was brought out, and others who came weren’t served either, whether they wanted to order or pay; they just sat and waited... We noticed this just in time and left... Of course, no one said anything when we left, nor did they ask if they could help or what was wrong... I calmly and politely pointed out in English that such a thing had never happened at their other location and that they should pay attention to this because trust can be lost over time. Incidentally, I would like to note that an 8% or any kind of service charge for this is unrealistic and nonsense. Two people can easily leave 10-15 thousand forints here, which wouldn't be an issue if they received service worth that amount. I recommend that both foreign and Hungarian guests avoid this place, it's just a rip-off because it’s in a good location, in the center, and foreigners will eat there only once anyway, then forget it and won’t return... However, I do recommend their 'normal' restaurants, where everything costs about the same, but there's quality, a larger selection, and professional service. It's a pity for this place, but I won't come here again; I'd rather spend the money I intended for lunch somewhere else, where I don't have to apologize for choosing them.
