Upon arrival, everyone greeted us with a kind smile. As it was a rainy day, we have been seated inside. Once seated as there was a group of 15 people apart of other small tables, we asked two waitresses (one tall lady, one asian lady) if it would be possible to be seated in the other room, as we saw two tables that could have been traded with ours. Both waitresses denied the request (you could clearly see they didn't want thr hassle). One pretended to ask a manager, the other lady did not even bother to find an excuse, just said no.
However after not so promising start our waitress Janka has done a remarkable job at taking care of the tables. Not just ours but ALL tables.
She had a very warm, casual and welcoming way of taking the orders. It's rare to have this unique passion for this job.
The asian lady however seemed to lack working, whether she was a manager, waitress or hostess. When she saw that our table of 5 pax had finished and was full of empty plates she back up into the other room and removed 3 plates from another table and once again Janka took professional care of our table. She was kind, smiling and hard working. She deserves a round of applause for her immaculate service! She's a dime! Also worthy of mentioningthe young man with the glasses bringing tray after trays of food out for a fast service and high guest satisfaction.
Our so and so experiece has not yet convinced us to return, however the food was excellent and very tasty. We wish the whole team and the restaurant...
Read moreI lived in Budapest for a year and came here on a visit with my friends from Spain to try it out. The food was genuine and actually real Spanish food. The croquetas were very good but I found the prices high for Budapest and the portions very small.
I am from Spain and I know that tapas are small, but NEVER this small, it’s also quite unusual in Spain to order around 5-6 tapas for two people, and gladly we were not that hungry, since the bill went up to 51.000 HUF total (around 32€ pp), very high price for Budapest in my opinion. The octopus portion felt a bit like a joke, but flavour was good.
You need to come with time since we had a reservation at 9pm and we had to wait until 21:40 to get our 4 drinks… turns out they had completely forgotten about two of them, and then they managed to bring them wrong 🥲 the first waitress was quite rude towards us, barely talking and totally ignoring us. I had to stand up twice to ask where the drinks were, since she was avoiding eye contact.
The atmosphere was nice, music was on point and the food was good. The highlight was the basque cheesecake, but then again, you’d get a much bigger piece in Spain, specially for how...
Read moreWe found the Pitpit while preparing for our trip and were immediately impressed by the location. We made a reservation a week in advance as the restaurant is regularly fully booked. The restaurant in the museum quarter combines modern with rustic. The interior of the restaurant is totally colourful and varied, and it's fun to look at all the details. We sat outside in the courtyard, surrounded by four house walls and overgrown with ivy, creating a very intimate and romantic atmosphere in combination with the lights and fairy lights. The team on site was young, very friendly and there was a very pleasant atmosphere with diverse music in the background. We chose several dishes and shared them as a couple. There was plenty of choice and also some vegetarian and vegan options. The drinks list was also extensive, they even offer homemade kombucha. Among other things, we ordered vegetarian ceviche and from the leftover "dressing" the attentive waitress brought us a shot with tequila, it was really exciting to drink such a shot. All in all, a worthwhile experience, thanks to the great...
