This place has really good drinks and nice interior design. Unfortunately it seems they do not like the foreigners. The staff leaves you with empty glasses for 30 mins. They apparently enjoyed watching us feed on the melted ice cubes. Multiple times we tried to get the staff's attention but they ignored us. Multiple times they looked at our empty glasses and then looked away. The bar was not even full and there was A LOT of people working shift that night (around 10 at least).
We even had to go get the staff ourselves when we wanted to pay. Then they tried to charge us a service fee without telling us anything about it. When confronted they told us we "must" pay this service fee. Sure... pay for service which was worst in Budapest so far 😅 I aint paying you for service fee when you let my hair turn white before you serve me. After declining to pay the service fee this little waiter threw a little tantrum and told us to never come back. Dont worry, we wont...
We spoke english, we werent rude and not even drunk. We had 3 drinks that night altogether. There was no need to treat us like sh*t. Great drinks, awesome interior design athomsphere. But if you are a foreigner I suggest you find a different place. According to previous reviews the staff acts like this quite often. And be careful about the service fee they charge customers without telling them about it... feels almost like a...
Read moreI have just spent an absolutely fantastic evening with friends at this fantastic place. We were served by a delightful young man by the name of Christophe who was full of smiles, friendly and eager to serve us. We had two Aperol Spritz and 2 local draught beers and then ordered some food. My friends had the goulash soup main. One of these friends is gluten free and they were only too happy to accommodate her. I had the pork loin wrapped in bacon with pea purée and a host of other delicious items. The food was excellent and the chef should be commended. It looked great and tasted even better. The atmosphere of the restaurant hole place was brilliant. Very busy, (and deservedly so), with an eclectic mix of people. Inside it is quirky and interesting. There’s an upper floor and a lower floor with a barrel vaulted ceiling which was fabulous. We sat outside. Again quirky takes and benches, busy with happy chatter from the customers. We had a brilliant night out and will be visiting again. The bill for all our food and drinks came to 25,500 huff, about £55 for the three of us. We will definitely visit again before we leave this wonderful city or cities to be precise. If you come to Budapest, seek out this place, you will not be disappointed. Thank you bar Puda for a great...
Read moreThe restaurant was pretty quiet and empty plus the food was also quite tiny specially being an American the burgers were the size of my palm ✋. Service was amazing however this place needs to improve. The burger was also verysoft and their bbq sauce didn’t even like bbq sauce. I’m American and as a person who eats burgers pretty often and being from the land of burgers this was the most awful burger I ever had 🤮. For your information they also charge 300 HUF in order to cook it more like what is this. I also had their goulash and wow was it just terrible. I had better goulash in Romania just the day before and goulash is supposedly from Hungary. Just shocking. Finally idk if this is in all restaurants but they charge a whopping 13 percent service charge on top of your meal. Think of it 13 percent of the price you pay is going to service charge. So all that plus the 20 percent sales tax is Hungary is really going to be expensive for the size and terrible quality you are getting. This restaurant is lucky they aren’t getting...
